KW suspension being VERY frustrating today
They claim to have coilover solutions specifically designed for the C63 Black Series, however after ordering the specified parts and trying to install it is clear that they are for the regular C63 and not the Black Series. After trying to come to a resolution they offered that I
a. either return the suspension
b. Try to make it work but if it doesnt then they cant be returned..... (Say Bye to a few Gs).
I guess they should remove the car listing on their parts website as this is false information!

Part Number as Specified by KW:
2012 Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Black Series
KW V3 Coilover: 35225048
Problems:
Rear Spring perchers are different design and would not fit the top
Front dampers mounting bracket is different in width
Photo for the rear spring too. Also the major problem lies on the front damper as the width on the mounting bracket is different it will pull the spindle assembly toward the vehicle and resulting really negative camber also the wheels may not fit properly (possibly touching the coilover).
Photo for clarification on the rear spring perch, the OEM top spring seat is slightly different than a regular C63 Coupe therefore there is nothing to guide the KW spring perch
Quick recap of the issues:
1) We suspect the difference between both front damper brackets length may cause increased in negative camber.
2) We suspect the difference between both front damper brackets length may decrease in wheel clearance (wheels may touch the damper, unsure until installed).
3) I Agreed with you regarding the rear spring perch that the weight of the vehicle and the spring rate would hold it in place (but what if noises appears if going over bumps?)
4) We are unsure if there will be any issue with the rear height adjustments.

Have u tried contacting RSquad911 in Toronto? His brother is a KW engineer & might be able to assist u.
Looks to me they simply sent u the wrong Coilovers.

I belive the BS has E rear end. maybe ask them to return the rear coilovers for a set of E63 ones and see if that fits.
don't try to make it fit. fk that. if doesn't work just return it and find other ways. good luck

We are returning it and sourcing OEM BS Suspension.... Its just really ****ty of KW to claim they sell a solution and then when we questioned them about it they were not willing to admit the mistake. One employee who we were talking to told us twice that the "Black series was only available as a sedan so we ordered the wrong parts" haha
I wish they would be more open to understanding the problem rather than trying to claim we are idiots for ordering parts that didnt work after we confirmed and confirmed again that they were the parts KW sells for the C63 Black Series.
Now Ive wasted lots of time and shop labour messing with parts that they said would work. On top of that they want to charge a 15% restocking fee ... again I know they sell a lot of parts and have a good product I just wish they had a bit more considerate service. Im not asking for them to fix the issues we ran into but to accept that they exist and admit their mistake for advertising a solution which doesnt exist.

I hope it's just the wrong kit, but you certainly look to have gotten the standard coupe kit unfortunately
Let me know if we can help in anyway.

That it does, unfortunately the E63 has an airmattic rear end and I'm pretty sure KW or anyone for that matter doesn't make a full coilover solution for the W212 chassis.

Unfortunately I cant post the emails due to confidentiality concerns but part numbers were confirmed to be for the Black Series. I think they thought the standard coupe set would work for the BS but it clearly doesnt.

Would a better option be selling it to another forum member maybe so you don't eat that 15% restocking fee

Man, after all that the least they can do is take them back without the restocking fee, sometimes youve just got to escalate and escalate until someone gets you taken care of

Yeah that is the tricky part. They are made by KW but they are MB parts ....
Go figure! So if you want a replacement kit you talk directly with MB.

perhaps minor brackets and sizes are different but the compression, spring rates are the same? for bs owners this could be a problem but for non-bs owners having something close as possible is ok.

This is true. The stock coils on my BS need new seals (Which would be a simple "Lifetime warranty rebuild" for KW or $150/corner without warranty rebuild) but because its a Mercedes part no one will rebuild the coils.

Sorry to hear about your experience! Thats gut wrenching.
I was about to order these this coming weekend actually: http://blog-int.kwautomotive.net/rin...eries-c63-amg/
They even have pictures of a C63 BS with them installed. They are the same unit as the V3 but with a DDC unit.
Makes you wonder how that shop car has it properly installed? Is there any possibility the kit you have is not the same part #? Or maybee the DDC is of a different design... (shouldnt be)
In your first screen cap KW lists PN KW V3 Coilover: 35225033
In your second post you wrote that you have PN KW V3 Coilover: 35225048
Is the 35225048 whats written on your box or stamped on the actual units? Makes you wonder if KW has flipped-flopped the sedan/coupe labelling on their kits. Only someone who has successfully installed this kit will know the correct PN
In any event, thanks for posting this up. Will be holding off on my order momentarily

Sorry the confusion for the part numbers came from the KW rep
When we ran int othe issue we asked:
"I’ve spoken to you about 2 weeks ago regarding a KW V3 coilover for 2012 C63 Coupe Black Series. I’ve just wanted to confirm the part number as we’ve just got the order placed. Thanks.
2012 Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Black Series
KW V3 Coilover: 35225048"
The Reply from the KW Rep:
The BS only came in a sedan. So the correct part number you would need to order is 35225033.
-I know this made us feel really confident :S (We felt really bad calling him out on it in later emails as he was getting very angry -putting emails in bold and caps, suggesting we were idiots for not knowing the black series only came as a sedan)
The truth is they dont have a part that fits the Black Series. If they do they sure didnt send it to us.....

Same issue with KW v3's on Edition 507 (sedan) as on BS coupe
I'm having the same issue happening on my Edition 507 (sedan) with the rear driver side. The photo's shown of the stock perch and the spring housing are identical on my 507 sedan as shown Vaclav's BS. The shop I went through got it installed, but knew ahead of time that I won't be able to adjust the back. The front went on fine and can make adjustments to it.
Any chance you or anyone have come up with a solution or fix to this? The car only has about 30 miles on it since the installation and the coilovers still have not fully set in yet.

It's actually not that big of a deal, as it can be remedied. Though, I do agree with you in this case. Since, the rep acted very unprofessional and didn''t have his facts right. Black Series in sedan only- that alone right there deserves a full refund! :p
