Imminent Purchase, advice needed please!
Hi There,
I'm a brand new visitor to the site & was hoping for a bit of pre purchase advice on must have spec & things to look out for, any useful info on ownership etc. Looking to spend around £35/40k, preferable colour is black with black leather.
Thanks in advance

Surely you've purchased a car before. Go find one, drive it, if you like it buy it.
Just see what options it has and whether or not you like what it has to offer. Some people will tell you anything 2011 or older are prone to a headbolt issue. I don't even bother mentioning it much anymore because it really doesn't happen too often. Otherwise, low miles and no accidents.
If you get a 2012 or newer for the love of god get the headlight package. But with that budget I think you'll be 2011 or older.
Happy hunting.

I think what he's asking is the must haves.
I think a must have for these cars (because retrofitting them is a *****) regardless of year:
-Lighting Package
-Keyless Go
LSD can be add
Performance package can be exceeded with a tune and you can always paint your calipers (only thing youd miss out on is the steering wheel alcanatara which is again just cosmetic and preference really (i personally prefer leather))
CF bits can be added
etc
etc

Lighting and multimedia for me. Everyone goes nuts over this keyless go stuff, I don't mind turning a key.

and the lighting package at night cannot be oversaid how important that is

Add the LSD to the essentials list if it's not standard equipment in the UK (it certainly should be on a 450+ hp RWD car) . Yes, you can add an aftermarkt one, but you won't be able to cool it as well because the housing doesn't have the fins, or for that matter completely disable the TC as the ECU will still brake the slipping wheel if the car wasn't optioned with a factory LSD.

Spent a while searching a fully loaded Blk / Blk, was worth the wait.
My preferences and must haves were:
Performance Pack
LSD
Like to haves - Carbon Int, Mirrors
Mine didn't have the carbon mirrors or interior but luckily being on this forum and virtually meeting Matt, I was able to get those added, came with the rear carbon spoiler as it was the PP.
For the ££ your looking to spend you should be able to get a nice spec, and later shape to mine, I spent 35k about 2 years ago and mines a late late 2010, 31st Dec Registered, but pre facelift.
Just needs a rear diffuser now to match the other bits, but getting there slowly.
Loving mine still, and notice your in a, coming from an M3 so similar ish move for me in a roundabout way, M3, M3CSL, GT3, C63 and now having my H&R springs done today down at AMD essex, the car sits perfectly and drives far better than std.

IMO it should come standard on these cars since it's what many luxury cars come with now.

Darren,
Just an observation. For the future get all the thoughts/questions you have down on a piece of paper, then start a thread. You have 4 threads going out of the top 6 or 7 right now.
Also, utilize the search bar and google because some of these threads have been covered numerous times.

LOL. When I found my 2010, it was after along search to find one with keyless go. It was the top want for me. Everybody has differnet opinions. I find the MB key, which is in my Daughter's C300, a pain to use.
