Almost ready to pull the trigger...

I see an '09 for a great price with a clean carfax, clean as a whistle, but has some miles and it isn't at an official MB dealer. I have the VIN.. but I'm sorta thinking, no VMI, no sale. I'll call the dealer we bought my wife's C300, see if they'll run the vin and read me off the maintenence/repair records, but if not, do any of you clever folk have another way to get that data? Thanks.

A V8
if the hasn't been to any chain dealer, they won't be able to pull anything.

how many miles? tbh i'd stay away from any 08-10 cars w/o a history, mainly because of the headbolts. 11's are less affected, so i'd be willing to gamble, but that's just me.

Many dealers won't tell you anything without whomever owned it while it was serviced giving permission.

Clean carfax, show up and drive it, everything feels good buy it. Or just get a PPI at that dealership you bought the C300 and see what they say.

Thanks. Still working the deal here. I am finding that these cars are taken car of to a higher standard than typical fare, so some miles, properly maintained of course, doesn't scare me much. It's that headbolt thing..As l9ong as the VMI can be had, and it shows that bit and maybe a couple others done, then no worries. We shall see!

I have an 09 with 81k miles and needing rear tires... Again but all I've had was a bad purge valve at 30k and head bolts replaced at 50k. But knock on wood, it's been the most reliable car I've owned. I daily drive the crap out of mine and has been the longest I've owned a single vehicle. Ironically the 04 Acura TL gave me the most grief due to tranny and electrical so you can't be Japanese biased any more these days.

Don't let miles scare you. It's a well built car with a big *** engine. No adjustable suspension, no fancy air/magnet struts, no fancy double clutch, and over built everything.

Only scare I would have is these cars like to be driven. If it's been sitting for awhile it may present issues that are relatively minor such as lifter noise or purge valve clogs.

All in all, best most enjoyable car I've owned.

How many miles on the car you are aiming?
What is the VIN?
I had a white 09 sedan with 82k miles carefully maintained. I could go past 100k miles with it. So don't be afraid of higher mileage C63. Just make sure it was regularly serviced.
