Blips? Pops? Crackles???
Hi Guys,
Not had my C63 long, since end of December and weather has ment I havent been able to push the car etc.
I here read talking about Blips, Pops, Crackles etc on down shifts but what mode, rpm do you need for this?
My old M3 E46, would blip the throttle on any don shift in any mode.
Cheers,

S and M mode (haha, I just read what I wrote) and S+ on facelift cars rev match downshifts. Pops and crackles come depending on many different factors. I find that when I push the car harder and the exhaust is hotter, the exhaust seems to get more animated.

The pops and crackles happen more in the higher rev range, so it depends on how you drive it. V5 tune makes for even more aggressive blipping, which creates more pops and crackles.

Ok now you need to start using the search function. Go look for S mode and S+ mode and eurocharged tune.

Please reset your TCU (transmission control unit) and then try to drive agressive in S/M mode!
You should hear many blips/Pops/crackles when your car shifts down now.
The procedure to reset the ECU is as follows;
1. Turn the igniiton key to the "on" position which is just before you crank the engine to start.
2. Press the accelerator to the floor and hold for 5 seconds.
3. Then turn the key to the off position but do not remove the key, then release the accelerator.
4. Wait at least 2 minutes, the ECU is then reset.
5. ECU is now reset and you are ready to get new rear tyres.
The ECU rest procedure only erases the adaptive transmission and throttle settings. It does not erase any of the fuel, timing or other programming.

I find that 5th to 4th downshift at about 3-4k rpms produce the loudest pop snap in my car. I'm not tuned though

Drive in S+ or M mode. If your in C mode, you won't get many pops or sounds. And when you come up to a stop, downshift early like the above stated.
That's what I noticed anyways.

I will tell you what. Drive in S or M mode and from gear 3 downshift to 2 when the speed is 55 km/h and from 2 downshift to 1 when slowing down/coming to a stop when the speed is 35km/h. If that doesn't make some wild noises, nothing will. I do this all the time and love the blips and crackles.

pops and crackles have nothing to do with the trans. It's unburnt fuel exploding within the exhaust. brentuning offer something in their software the mimic the snap crackle pop all the time. Plus, their tunes are all from Jeremy at OE so you know they are reliable.

You love your car when you find yourself mimicking the noises your car makes right after it makes it. You know others love your car when they ride with you and make the noises at the exact same time your car is suppose to make them.

To the OP...if you've done the secondary cat delete and tune you should definitely get the chatter from the exhaust. If not, are you sure it's a c63. Just checking....
