Changing Command Wheel
I have it down to the cup holder plastic. I can't figure out how to get that out. The wheel is free but the connection is under the cup holders. If someone could shed some light on this for me I would appeciate it.
For those that will only contribute a "did you search the forums" I did.

I replaced mine. It was kind of frustrating because the flat 3 or 4 white wire is held on to a few clips on the drivers side of the console. And then the connection is up near the Park mode of the shifter.
I didn't pull the whole console out. Just take the cup holder top cover off.

If you have a new command wheel with the connection, then just go ahead and cut it. Honestly, I spent at least 45 min trying to get the wire off the clips.
It wouldn't be as hard the second time around because I figured the easiest way to get it out without cutting, but if you don't want to waste time, cut it.

Pull the carpeting away from the trans tunnel and you can access with ease the nasty little clip holding the harness in there.
For a more detailed procedure, do a search for Euro Console Install.

What exactly are you having difficulty with? The attachment connector that holds the Command Wheel harness near the shifter assembly? If so, I've explained to you the easy way around that. If you remove the entire console to do something as easy as replacing that wheel, you will regret it.

Your car is no different than anyone else's C63. All of that stuff just snaps on and off.

Another nice trick is to attach a piece of mechanics wire to the connector end of the wheel harness before you pull the wheel out so that when you remove the wheel it pulls the wire through the harness' channel. When you go to reinstall the wheel, simply attach the mechanics wire to the connector end and pull the harness back the other way and it will run precisely through the same area that it came out of.

UNLESS SOMEONE HAS ALREADY F'ed WITH IT - That Changing Wheel harness runs from the wheel assembly itself, under the shifter top plate, to the left side of the shifter assembly (where it has a clip holding it to something) and then to the connector where it plugs in. If you peel back the carpeting to the left of the shifter assembly you can access the nasty clip that is causing you all that trouble and unclip it. After that, it's a cakewalk. DO NOT reinstall that clip. It's entirely unnecessary.
