Tune it and drive, drive, drive!
I am still a newbie owner (6 mos) and can't imagine owning anything else. Car has 92k miles, no warranty, and I don't care. Everything I read prior to purchase convinced me that these are reliable drivetrains so I am not worried about any major failures over the next 100k miles.
I do all of my own repairs as long as I have time and a friend that is the owner of a good indy shop if I don't. As I have gotten older I tend to keep cars a lot longer.

Are you referring to an MB warranty or a 3rd party. I am second owner of mine and bought it CPO with 17000 kms. My MB warranty expires in October, and while I dont usually believe in buying extended warranties*, the possibility of a humongous bill on this car has me debating it. If you or anyone else knows anything about extended warranties in Canada Id love to hear it.
*think about it - if an extended warranty is a good investment how is it mathematically possible for the warranty company to pay 25-50% of your initial outlay to the company that sold it to you, pay for your repairs, then make a big enough profit to be bankrolling an insurance company? The numbers don't add up. <<< Not really a comment for you Roswell, but for all those people that buy them for their refrigerator, their kids RC car and everything else under the sun.

But yes i agree with you most ppl buys extended warranty on anything for peace of mind. I probably would if the cost was reasonable.

I would pay 5k for 2 years in a heartbeat. I dont put a ton of miles on, maybe 1000km per month, but they are 95% city, and I am at 70000 km. 5k for 2 years is 200 per month. Think its safe to say this car costs more than that.

Let me know how that 5k expense feels when the company refuses to pay the claim

2010 c63 (p31) w/LSD
That is the reason I bought the MB warranty and not one of the aftermarket warranties. I paid $2700 for 7yr/75k mi warranty. The piece of mind in knowing I only have to worry about maintenance and not the possible blown tyranny or headbolt issue made it well worth the cash I spent on it. If anything happens I take it to any dealer in the US and they fix it with no deductible and a free loaner car.

I can't remember. It was back in 2003. I said then I would never by another. Dealing with Ford warranties on 2 different cars were unpleasant experiences as well.
Of course, I am the guy that wishes he could buy a new car without a warranty at a reduced price as a typical dealership has 'parts replacers' rather than actual mechanics

I've had mine a couple of years now and love it. It's my daily and one of the best dailys I've owned. I've got 600 hp evo that take most of the abuse but for reliable comfort power love the c63.
So far I've done
Coilovers
Wheels
Tints
Carbon duck fin spoiler
Secondary cat delete and resonator delete
Eurocharged map (booked in 21st march)
Future plans
More carbon
Facelift rear
Just enjoy the car

Obsidian Black 2009 C63 w/ P30 Package
I have a 2009 C63 AMG P30 for a few years ago and have a extended warranty that will end around Summer 2016. These cars will be expensive to repair out of pocket.
In the back of my head I want to keep it even thou past the warranty is over but at this point my 2009 will already be 6-7 year old car so as someone previously said I will be looking for a e63 s 4matic as well

oh btw i paid 4000 for extended warranty on my 2010 .. still got a year and half left... then im going to get a tune + deletes or tune + LTH and keep it for a long time.. just love how the m156 roar
if the dash was leather wrapped then i would keep it till the wheels fall off.

Keeping my 507 coupe as long as I can. Have the factory LSD, V5 tuned, X-piped cats, straight piped res, and added Mode Carbon bits. All that's left are LTH and nothing else needs to be done (maybe wider tires and coilovers when I feel like it).
It's got a character that's hard to describe - and makes it a joy to drive every time you have some room to let the V8 breathe. The turbo'd smaller displacement cars never feel the same. Drove a BMW for a week and got terribly bored in a few days.
The only upgrade one can justify making (other than for vanity reasons) is to go to the opposite side of the spectrum: from roaring V8 power in a relatively heavy chassis to a less-powerful but perfectly precise handling, lighter chassis. ie. Porsche Cayman GT4, 911 GT3 class
