2011 C63 to 2014 Viper or 2015 Z06?

Just curious, how much are looking to spend? A Fully loaded Z06 can go for over $106,000.00 and a Viper can go for even more depending on options.
Why not get an AMG GT S? It close to the same money and a Dodge and Chevy can't compare to a Mercedes IMHO

Good luck with your decision and let us know what you get

don't start that fanboy ****.
dodge stepped up their game big time with the new viper.
Now the E63 and S63 i raced...those cars haul ***..
and the S63 i swear is twice as loud as our cars when it opens up i've seen a new viper a few times but never heard one, like everyone says youre comparing a sedan/couple (entry level AMG) against chevys most expensive product and dodges most expensive product.
ducktales
The reason I am considering a Z06 even though I haven't driven that either is that I know I like supercharged cars. I test drove a CTS-V and a Shelby Cobra (550hp version) and really enjoyed the low end torque and the almost flat torque curve. NA motors are also a lot of fun, but they need to be revved up to feel the power.
I'll test drive these cars at some point in the future and post my opinion here. Until then, I can only speculate. Another car that is quite tempting is the new Porsche Cayman GT4. A lot less power and craziness for similar money, but it may more than make up for that in the overall driving experience.
Maybe I'll just stick with my beautiful C63 with only 8k miles on it and enjoy what I already have for a few more years. I don't need to sell it to buy a Viper or a Z06, but I know I will end up selling to justify the purchase and reduce the financial hit, and that is giving me a reason to pause.

i really like the new vette's body style, etc but as others said that viper is a little more rare on the street and is an attention grabbing road monster.

The Best of Mercedes & AMG
- I cant afford a GT-S/Z06(r1)/Viper
- A two door sports car doesn't fit my needs
- I don't like the way the hellcat charger looks
And the list goes on. But that is about the dumbest counterargument I think I've ever seen here.
And fact, the new viper will go around a track fast than the GT. Stock vs stock of course because I'm sure that was coming next.

I was trying to help the 0P with his decision on a vehicle. I didn't intend to turn this into a *****ing session.
Obviously you believe that the Viper is a better car because of the fact it is faster around a track. That tells me everything I need to know about you and your opinions about cars, so I will end it there.
You can believe whatever you want to believe but that does not make it true 😃

However, we are talking about a viper and and z06 here. Two cars that don't compare to a c63 because they have completely different intentions. Same with the GT. The GT is a luxury sports exotic tailored to be fast, but comfortable and tame for road use. The viper and z06 are not, these cars are manufactured with raw performance in mind and less about the trip to the grocery store for bread and milk.
I understand where you say MB comes with quality, but you say its your opinion and then two posts later say its fact. Its all RELATIVE. Modern tech doesn't mean that because MB is quality that Chevy and Dodge aren't.

No point in discussing this any further if that is what you think.
No, go sit in your car and scratch the dash. Oh hey, plastic. Now, go drive your car down the road, what's that rattling?
I'm not saying it is the same, but if you think MB is that far beyond what other companies are doing then that is the definition of fanboy-ism.
You're clearly just too brand loyal and close minded to open your eyes to how great some cars are out there outside the MB brand.

I have owned several high horse power Corvettes in my life and was an avid Corvette fan until we bought an SLK55 AMG for my wife back in 2009. After driving and working on the AMG I began to like the Corvette less and less.
I ended up selling it and personally don't ever plan on owning anything but Mercedes from this point on

I have had Corvettes torn down in my garage many times performing my own work. The same goes with some of the Mercedes I have owned. There is no comparison, period.
I am done with you, obviously you don't have a clue what you are talking about and you can't fix stupid
If it is a daily driver then, Z06 for sure. As for a toy you can't really go wrong with either. I love both cars!!! It's nice to have decisions

lets be realistic here, that is damn impressive. Yes i know there track is relatively small to some of the big dog tracks but you cant argue this one. The z07 and the new viper wont be faster around the track than a gtr - its awd which is a huge traction advantage on technical tracks. The idea of the GT-S or a second hand SLS arent really bad ideas.

I thought about the AMG GT S, but it is nowhere near my price range. I believe it will be well over $140k with the options I would want, and even the GT will be north of $110k with a few must have options.
I bought my 2011 brand new in mid 2012 (it was a leftover car from 2011), so I haven't owned it as long as some 2011s here. Even then, 8k or so miles in 32 months of ownership is a shame. I really need to drive the car more!
I saw the Top Gear lap time for the GT S and was wondering how it did at Laguna Seca when they were testing it there. That's really the only track that I know both the Viper (set lap record until the Porsche 918 came around) and the GT S have been. I would guess the GT S was slower, otherwise we would have heard about it. That's just my guess though.
Either way the GT S is priced in a different league so it's irrelevant.
To be fair on the build quality discussions, it's nice that AMG engines are hand built, but the Viper is a hand built car. Not just the engine. Whether that translates to better quality or not is debatable though.
