Well.... That was interesting. And I'm also installing a WB on mine. I would trust the electronics more if I haven't seen STOCK 55K cars melt down because of leaning out. And I'm one for being able to monitor everything myself. Kinda like the no dip stick thing drives me nuts. But what do I know. MB is a new to me.

Installed over the weekend. Still modifying the ashtray to mount the gauge... it's a tight fit.
I agree that it's always nice to monitor AFR if you can. Apparently others choose to just blindly trust that everything is running correctly...

I'm keeping the ashtray door etc to keep it looking OE when I'm not using it. Took some work, but Dremeled out the underside of the sliding door and cut out the bottom, and can fit one gauge in there with a CF plate cemented in to keep it in place.

Seems like every other thread I click on has an argument in it. Lol!!! Stop pmsing and relax guys.
I've been looking for a good place to put some gauges. Looking forward to seeing pictures.

Subscribed to see how the mounting turns out.
Monitoring with a secondary AFR WB on a closed loop WB platform is redundant though.
Both will have slight discrepancies (as the sensors degrade) so which one do you trust? Your secondary (primary) sensors will either show a false positive or false negative at some point.
What is your game plan if your secondary AFR system shows lean?
What is your game plan if your secondary AFR system shows rich?
Would have been better off tapping into the signal from the OE sensors instead. Just some constructive criticism, so feel free to ignore

Installed and working great ![Big Grin](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
Haven't had a chance to do a long WOT pull yet. Got on it a bit this morning and saw 12.7-12.9 but couldn't stay in it long enough to get a solid reading.

The ashtray mount took a bit of cutting, both to the tray (gone) as well as to the underside of the door. Also had to cut out a plastic bracket underneath everything for the gauge and wires to fit. All-in-all not so bad, just a lot of test fitting, and looks OE when the door is closed. A little disappointed that the CF sheet doesn't match the internal trim, but I'll correct that over the summer.
