EBD, ABS and ESC Inoperative - Also no power steering

Thanks Bob... And the next contestant is... Dogtag114 with a 2009 model year...
Just came on today... Extended warranty still in effect so may ask for all of the above...
Oddly after filling gas tank, all was good again, even the power steering which cut out... (And why would the steering cut out with any of the above anyway ?!?!)

I'm just happy to have it back to normal today.

Ok... ESP module it is... Enough stored faults to replace under extended warranty when the part comes in.

Hi,
I have a 2010 GLK350 and I got the exact same messages as the OP: brake AND pwr steering inoperative. The power steering works fine, though. Do the above mentioned sensor cleaning fixes cover that odd combination of messages as well, or just the brake message?
Thanks!
Mike

I actually had this issue pop up again. Cleaning the rear sensors did jack this time.
Ended up grabbing an Easydiag 2.0 Plus to scan everything. After scanning, it did show some stored faults so I figured my EPS module may have bit the bucket. Car was completely fine after the scan lol.

That's totally weird that the issue went away after the scan. Ha! It went away on our GLK, as well. Just stopped to fill up for gas, for like the 3rd time (long road trip), and it hasn't come back since. That was 2 days ago and my wife has been driving it normally around town the last 2 days. I was a little miffed when I checked for codes and there was nothing there. I recently ran into another issue where the car wouldn't start after stopping for gas... no codes at all. Maybe it's the reader/software that is the problem?

Almost sounds to me like your battery is getting weak and needs to be replaced or charged on a CTEK 7000 and put through a recondition cycle. When the voltage drops below 11.5V all those weird codes come up on the dash and the starter will not turn over.

Good Morning,
2010 C63 here. Had the EBD ABS and ESC error, run flat indicator and no power steering upon cold start and immediate drive.
Pulled into the underground at work. Let it sit a couple of hours. Turned on, let it warm up and went for a drive. Took lots of turns and went up to 70KM/H and could not replicate these errors. Warranty is up so I'm hopeful that this error doesn't return. Would hate to have to replace the ESC module.

This is common when the battery is getting weak. I had the same warning that came out of no where. Use a multi-meter to check volt out put when the car is off and when running. Chances are your battery will fail a load test if you check the battery. Change the battery, problem solved, for me at least.
Goes away with new battery.

This has happened to me for two days in a row now, only at first start up for the day. I'm thinking battery also, but will monitor it for a few more days.

maybe go light on AC etc and see if that makes a difference. What I did was just make sure to fully charge my battery, and that helped briefly. But once these things are cooked they wont hold a charge so it wasnt long before it came back.

Just to report back to the board, the problem hasn't returned (yet) since Friday morning. Didn't drive the car all day yesterday and even today it didn't pop up. I'm hoping my brakes rinsing with the hose worked.

I had this issue a few months ago and it was the ABS computer, coverered under my MB extended warranty. I knew it wasn't my battery as I had just replaced that a few months before this issue started.

You may have just really drained your battery for some reason that day i.e. extra ac usage etc.

Any update on this? Im having the same issue with my 2009 c63. Bought a used module from a salvaged c63 and the dealer said they cant recode a new vin to the module once it has been coded before. Any help would be appreciated.

It's more common now. Mine took a dump after having the inoperative message pop up a few times in the last year or so.
Still trying a few things before I do the module swap.

Mine failed earlier this year (2009)... was luckily replaced under extended warranty that expired last month.
However, after failing for 2 days (including power steering), it miraculously was fine for the 6 weeks I ended up waiting to get it repaired.
Don't rush, it may clear itself... there are a few threads on this.
