Talking Best options for exhaust...?

I would like to make my c63 louder without spending a significant amount of money (lol). Does anyone have any recommendations on exactly what my best options are? I would appreciate the feedback

BTW: I received my Eurocharged tune today, HOLY CRAP! It's night and day!!!

There are tons of recent threads about this, huge amounts...but a quick sum up, for about $100 you can get your secondary cats removed. Replace it with straight pipe, it won't change the AMG sound but it will make it louder. Other options are resonator removal, it adds a bit of raspyness to the sound but some like it. Headers would be another option depending if it's still within the price range.

I'd be interested in doing that, where would I go to get it done / order the parts?

Thanks

a few company sells x pipe but imho I think they are over priced. they do look pretty but they are just pipes.

find any good exhaust shop around you and they will be able to do it for you without having to buying any parts. its not a hard job but make sure you find a GOOD shop for your nice AMG

you don't need x pipe for 2nd cat deleting, since 2nd cat does not cross over itself. But you do want x/h pipe if deleting res.

Put straight pipe where 2nd cat is, it is about 200 bucks ish, depending on what pipe the shop uses. Try out the sound, if not enough, go with LTH. But, remember, it is way quieter in the car than what people outside hears.

Is'nt it true that the exhaust loses its AMG character by adding an X pipe? I might be wrong though.

OP, I had straight pipes on my previous C63. I thought it was a bit too loud so I went for H pipes this time. From time to time, I do miss the straight pipes lol

I think most of the AMG sound comes from muffler and some from res. If you refer to replacing 2nd cat with X pipe, i'd think it would lose some character, though haven't heard one in person. My reason being that 2nd cat is not cross over originally, adding X pipe changes how gas gets out of these pipe, thus some what change the sound character. But, replacing 2nd cat with straight pipe will only open her up without changing how gas goes, thus volume up without characteristic changing.

And, I think replace 2nd cat with straight is not that loud though, very reasonable while city grandma driving, somewhat stock. give some gas, it is fun

Straight pipe the secondary cats and resonator. Call it a day. X pipe actually tones the exhaust down.

Straight piping is a good way to go, still retains the signature AMG Bark and totally daily driveable.

I had a 2008 X5 4.8 and did the muffler and resonator delete. Man, that was fricken loud. It got to the point where it was too loud for my daily commute, lol.

Different car,

The M156 sounds extremely good with the Resonator + Secondary cat delete.

Secondary cat delete doesn't cause a cel? Or should I have Eurocharged send me a new file for that?

No, it does not cause a CEL. There are no o2 sensors at the secondary cats, only primaries.

I went to a shop yesterday and they quoted me $300.00 to remove the secondary cats... I thought that was a little steep haha. I found another guy that will remove the resonator & sec cats for $220.00. I don't want to lose the AMG bark / pops, so should I straight pipe the entire thing or straight pipe the sec cats and H pipe the res?

What's your opinion on deleting the secondary cat with an h-pipe?

I listened to your advice last year and deleted my resonator and absolutely loved it, but now am craving some more. (Itching to just mod the car to be honest)

I like loud, but from what I've seen, a deleted secondary cat + resonator is a bit ridiculous and a little too raspy for me.
