Just picked up
Hey guys,
Whats up? Just wanted to introduce myself and say I just picked up a 2010 C in white last week. Just had a few questions for everyone, what issues can I expect within the next few thousand miles (picked it up with 37,000 on the odometer)?
My dad keeps telling me that the cams were made with dissimilar metals and after some wear on the engine starts to fail, any fact behind this?
Some background on me, I live in Los Angeles and this is my second MB (previously owned a 2006 E350, what a great driving car.) My first passion is riding motorcycles in the canyons around LA, but also love driving them, I ride a 2010 Ducati 848 (also in white). I used to work for a board sponsor here, CEC Wheels.
One other thing is when I purchased it the sticker said "Rear View Camera" well to my surprise it doesn't have one so I went back to dealer and asked them why the sticker said it had one but there isn't one. They said they would get one installed, so I am pretty happy about that. Anyone have a ballpark cost that it would run to have a factory backup camera installed?

"what issues can I expect..."
A huge grin that persists after every drive!
I am new here as well, having my car now for 1 month and loving it.
Good choice in getting white. Car looks nice.

How many miles you have on yours if you don't mind sharing?

That's like someone asking "When am I going to die?" I know it's going to happen, like breaking parts or internal engine issues that arise, just a matter of when. I'd like to know so I can have an idea of when it's going to occur and around what milage.
I am not afraid of maintenance as I mentioned before own a Ducati (notorious for being service queens), I tend to stay on top of general maintenance.

I'm closing in on 90,000 miles and it's still running as strong as the first day I brought her home. Like others have said, just keep on top of maintenance, and be forever wary of the head bolt issue.
Enjoy your car in good health!

Wear and tear on ANY engine will cause it to fail over time. Unless the engine internals are made of adamantium.

For the 2008-2010 (and even some 2011) C63 AMGs, there are faulty head bolts that, when go bad, cause the engine to fail. Give Weistec Engineering a call and tell them you want to replace the head bolts on your C63 and they should help you out before it's too late! I'm looking to buy a C63 so I'm doing my research as well .
