Home made 507 side stripes

"If Mercedes made it that way, that's the look I want..."
It's like putting black series style wheels on a C63. Your more so trying to retain the original manufacturer look and spirit than look like an aftermarket freak show...
After enquiring to MB for a set of 507 sidestripes I was absolutely stunned at the price. Over £400 for a bit of vinyl...... oh and the fact they wouldn't sell me any unless I provided the VIN for an edition 507 !!
So not to be beaten I did some digging around to find out the colour of the vinyl and order some myself. Avery 700 series 759-01 Komatsu Grey seemed to be a pretty good match and at £6 per metre I ordered some in.
Cutting the stripes wasn't too hard but I had to get our graphics department at work to cut the trickier bits.
A few pics of my work in progress. Ill post up some better photos when the job is finished.
Oh and to the haters, I know my car isn't a 507 but I don't care what you think

The Best of Mercedes & AMG
Reality is my 11 year old son will be devastated if I take them off, and his opinion and love for this car matter more to me than what any random internet stranger would say. That said, "better" is subjective and hard to quantify, but "different" should be easy, and thats what most of us actually want.
They are on eBay in a few different colors.
