I am shaking my head....with all the comments in here. What if thats all they can afford with their money? Shouldnt you all just be thankful that youre driving the real thing?!!! For crying out loud its not like were driving bentleys or maybachs! You guys should be ashamed of yourselves! What if a guy with an aventador pulls up next to you and shakes his head coz youre thinking youre all that coz you drive a C63? Thatll be embarassing.

The problem here is posting an amg badge on the side of your car when it clearly Isn't. Money Isn't the issue, If you love your car, don't pretend it's something it's not. Plus just because this posted on a C63 thread doesn't mean we all drive C63's

Why? Does your car lose hp if a guy puts an AMG badge on a non AMG car? If people putting badges on cars that arent really what they are is the problem? Why dont you form a vigilante group. You can drive around at night armed with a dental floss and scrape out all the badges that are not supposed to be there. Problem solve! Otherwise, your problem doesnt have a solution doesnt it? Or maybe the real problem are people who thinks so highly of themselves that they were lucky enough to afford a C63, oops i mean an AMG, that they cant accept the fact that others get by with just a $10 badge from ebay. Not saying its the same as the real thing but you know what i mean.

But why pretend your driving something your not? It just screams poser. You see a bunch of 335i guys mod the crap out of there car in DC and most of them will keep there 335i badges or just debagde but they wont slap an M3 badge because they love there cars and they wont deny what the car is instead of posing. If your gonna pose then your prob gonna get laugh at anyone who knows cars. Some people get really bothered, others get a good laugh. I mean if this thread gives you problems then you really need to read the AMG poser thread on the clk thread thats over 100 pages lol

between the two of us, its obvious whos more bothered. Who started this thread again? Silly fun? Yep. That "poser" who drives that car sleeps better at night while youre too busy thinking of "silly fun" things to say and write about him. I think the jokes on you "AMG OWNER".

Beejay,
Attitudes about this might be different in your part of the world, but here in north america this is a huge no no in the automotive enthusiast hobby culture. Its not about being a snob but it is about passing your vehicle off on something it isn't. It isn't just with AMG owners. This problem occurs with in the mustang world with owners slapping cobra or SVT emblems on a GT or a 6-cyl car. Not to mention people throwing SS badges on every old chevy muscle car.
Nothing wrong with making a tribute car. Wheels, bumper cover change, etc.
Just don't badge it as such!!

Whatever bud, the only joke here is the one staring at you on the mirror daily. You can start your own thread on the "arrogance" as you paint it of some folks here. I'm pretty damn sure you do the same for some aborigines down unda so don't try to pick and choose what you want to enforce or label.

If you dont call this arrogance, then i dont know what is. I was born and raised in LA and i pretty much know that arrogance means exactly the same as any part in the world.
Oh and yeah, we do look down on aboriginals here. we invite a few every first friday of the month and kick and spit on them while others point and laugh. We have a club down here you know.
Goes to show how arrogance reflects ignorance.

I saw a civic with an AMG badge on the trunk the other day. I wonder what was going through his head when I passed him in my C63

What's ironic is that most people that slap fake badges, I assume do it to impress others? The random people that don't know anything about cars most likely don't care what the badge is and what it says and the people that do know cars will know right away that it's fake and therefore have no respect. So I don't get what the idea behind the whole thing is to begin with?
