It was a coupe. I only noticed it as I got really close on the highway and passed him. he got out on my same exit, I pulled to the other lane and let him catch up. Looked at the brakes and other stuff, I moved up next to him and looked his way. When he looked I just shook my head lol and drove off.
It's like a corvette guy trying to pass a base corvette by buying the Z06 badge and slapping that on the side.
Most of these guys are unaware. In a lot of cases, the badges are already on the guy when people buy these cars. I had approached a C350 guy with a AMG badge once to find out 'why' and he was clueless. he thought the badge was slapped on because he had the 'AMG sport' package and it was on the car when he bought it off the dealer lot.
this brings up a bigger question. The E-coupe is a stunning car. why is there no AMG E-coupe? There is AMG everything else.
I wonder that every time I see one.
They stop making the CLK coupe AMG back in 2006 for the US market as it did not sell well at all. Only offered the CLK63 2007-2008 in cabriolet and than stopped that too. Shame they don't.
I see at least one a week in the Bay Area. I'm not bothered by the badge itself, really. It's just embarrassing how naive some people are about the car they're driving.

scanning CPOd E550 coupes now. i wonder how much hp you could get out of that with a tune. I mean some wheels, lowered, tune and damn that's a lot of car for the money.

E63 AMG Coupe would look absolutely killer. I always do a double take when I see an E Class coupe on the road.
That photoshop though....not digging it. Wheels and tires look bad, car looks like its sitting waaaay too high, needs the windows tinted, and needs much larger rear fenders.

The new turbo'd 550's are fast with a tune. Throw in downpipes and it'll hang
