Dealer refused to put on 245F 265R tires

Dealer refused to put on 245F 265R tires
Had my E550 serviced at last week, and asked my service adviser to order PSS tires for my C63 is size 245/35/19 and 265/30/19 (add 10mm front and rear). He said he couldn't put anything on but the size listed on the inside of the door. Total BS. I pressed him by reminding him that there are alternate sizes listed in the manual, such as snow tires. He then told me other tires shops would tell me the same thing due to liability

Westover Exxon ordered what I requested without issue.
Hopefully have new shoes by the end of the week. In the meantime I'm going to turn off the ESP and try to wear out the rears a little more.

So dumb how you can't walk in as a paying customer to a place that is going to overcharge for tires and request what you want to put on your car.

Total BS. I just, as in today, had my dealer put PSS 245F/275R on my 507. They didn't even hesitate a breath or thought. I normally buy at my Discount Tire, have a great relationship, no issues there either.
But no, your dealer was lying and not a very good salesmen(didn't bring money to his place of employment).

I understand the dealer sticking to a very strict regimented policy - simply the nature of the beast. They will tell you it is factory policy but it will vary from dealer to dealer.
Curious as to why you would go to the MB dealer for tyres (or tires as you say). I assume that like in Australia far better prices and opotions can be had for tyres from a specialist tyre dealer. Simply convenience?

I just put Michelin Pilot sport's A/S 3 's on my C63. It does rain around here once in a while. Discount tire had no problem with going to 245 (stock 235) up front and 265 (stock 255) in the rear. Matter of fact the gave me a deal on them. They ride, handle and look great. Not really scrubbed in yet.
Just in case your wondering I torched the old ones in parking lot two blocks away.

Your dealer sure don't like money... or know how to pleased paying customers. lol
Unless your car is leased, I would understand they would prefer you to stick with oem size but that's smth they can deal with when you return the car.
And ditto on why you would go to the stealer to buy tires? We all know they overcharge there, you can find much cheaper online including shipping & have them mounted at your local tire shop.

Also, this is the second time I put them on. Lasted me 12,000 miles the first time. Front's probably could have gone another 3-5k
