As far as I know, no one makes a forged crankshaft for the M156 motor. If there is, then it's probably custom-made.

I've been thinking of stroking my own M156 engine. Will require custom sleeves though so a pretty big investment in total. A custom UK made stroker crank should run about $4,500. For a complete setup with forged crank, billet con rods (high quality, not China), forged pistons and ductile iron sleeves you should be around $9,000. Add new bearings, engine block labor, ARP 625+ head studs and your probably up at around $13,000. Big investment for 0.5L more. I've done the numbers and I would be scared to try aim for 7.0L. I don't remember what I came up with when I looked into this but I belive I figured out that it was wise to stop at 6.8-6.9L. But I wanted to leave the wall thickness to accomodate for high boost though. As NA maybe 7.0L is possible.

I can't find the thread. I remember people trying for a stroker m156 awhile back but they found there was no room. They were trying for 6.7-6.8L as well. Good luck!

Do you happen to remember where the clearance issues were? Clearance issues can often be solved some way or another.Originally Posted by chrisridebike8
