Insurance Premiums? What are you guys paying?
Had a Jetta TDI and a Nissan GTR, sold them both and bought a 2012 C63 sedan any my premium went up $238.00 a year.... I don't get it!
This car is more to insure than my GTR and Jetta combined? Jetta was 800, GTR was 1200 and the Benz is $2400 ALONE! She is shopping rates for me now to see if she can find anything lower, but dang....that's steep! What are you guys paying? Who do you go through? How is your driving record...I have 6 points from one ticket...30 over whoops...

Once again its one of those questions where asking around will do you no good at all because of the insane amount of variables.....
What type of policy?
Your Age?
Your driving record?
Years driving?
Amount of cars on policy?
Amount of discounts you can apply for?
Bundled with homeowners?
Type of coverage?
Deductible amount?
Car rental coverage?
Miles driven per year?
and on and on and on
Just as an example, I have full coverage (500/500) with car rental expense and a $1,000 deductible. My quote is $990 a year with AAA (and I get a yearly dividend, last year was $234) so my net cost was $756

$1440 per year with Geico in Texas. For reference, I was paying the same for 2 cars (03 Cobra and 01 BMW 540) renters, and a $1mil umbrella when I lived in Wisconsin. Texas has a TON of uninsured/underinsured that hike rates.

I am paying $1350/year total for insurance on my 2010 c63 and my wife's 2008 jeep. Both cars have $500 deductible and we both have no points on our driving records. We have esurance.

i am paying ~$1,900/yr through safeco (100/300), which looks like it's much higher than everyone here due to factors that saphgrey63 pointed out. i'm thinking i might be one of the younger guys on the board without the extensive driving record relative to most folks and i don't have multiple cars, nor do i bundle this policy with my homeowner's insurance.

Once again, there are so many factors that play into insurance outside of our individual control that this is really a pointless comparison. We are comparing apples to watermelons to pineapples.

insurance premiums isnt something that can gauged easily. if ur older than 40, live in a nice area, and have a perfect record, then chances are u will pay a low premium, if ur 19, live in a terrible crime riddled area and have a horrible driving record then obviously premiums will be high.
states also vary as well.
in australia, sydney is notorious for ahving the highest premiums. whereas queensland have one of the lowest, so u cant even compare the 2 states when asking what people pay.
me personally, im under 40, but well over 30, have a clean record, live in what i guess is a decent part of sydney and i pay $1700 for a my13 c63 estate.

I'm around $1400/yr in MD with full coverage and various discounts. I thought it was going to be a little cheaper but the P30 Performance Pkg tipped it up some. I'm with Liberty Mutual, clean record.

i dont even know what my rate is, but i've got a lot of discounts for multiple cars and home. I know that the c63 insurance isn't much more than the wifes mustang gt.
i've also got a really low $250 deductible too which raises it some.
it's all about credit rating, age, driving record, and discounts...you can get all kinds of discounts. we get a discount on the mustang by sending a vehicle health report from the sync website twice a year.

after all the discounts, my 6 month premium is $1574 for two cars. The benzo takes the bigger chunk out of that for sure compared to the corvette. Both cars have a 300/300 deductible.

I was 20 years old at the time and had a C43 AMG. I was racing my cousin in his E55. He was up ahead and pulled in between both of us. The fear of him having my plate made me decide to pull over to which I got a gun pulled on and was told to show my hands with keys out the window. Charged us with reckless, speeding, inappropriate lane usage, failure to signal and failure to wear seat-belt. I got a really good lawyer and everything got dropped but the speeding which stayed on my record for few years.
All in all it was a $3,500 speeding ticket but I got to keep my license.
