Help!!! BAD Throttle Body

Hello Guys

I have and C63 AMG 2009 and about a month ago the revs on the car started to fluctuate on idle from 1000 to 1,500. I took the car to the dealer and they told me I have to replace the entire Throttle Body, which is about USD $4,000. I asked them to send me pictures of the damaged part and they sent me this. Any recommendation on what should do, I Can't spend USD $4,000 on this right now and as you can see only that part is damaged.

I replace one of my throttles. I purshase mine on EBay used for $199.00 and it work perfectly, but it looks to me that what is broken is the tray that hold the throttles.

That's part of the intake manifold that holds the throttles. They bolt to that piece.

I should have that piece in the basement.

I'd be more concerned as to where those missing bits of aluminum went.

My pecking order in term of concern is, first to fix the problem without changing the entire throttle body. Then how come a part that is supposed to take the heat of that engine get like that and how to avoid that from happening again and lasty where did the residuals went to.

you cant get it separately. You have to get the whole intake manifold which is why it's so expensive. I'll have to look but i may have one of those plates you need thats not damaged like that.

Weistec would have stacks of them. for every car they do i'd think they have to remove that plate.

Obviously if you can find that piece separate that would be best, if not I offer the replacement intake here https://www.carpartsdiscount.com/cat...ml?3593=527315 its a little cheaper then the $4k you were quoted. I wish you luck, never good when a part this expensive fails. If i can be of any assistance let me know i am more then happy to help in any way i can, even if i cant get you the part maybe i can give you some advice where to shop.

For that much money it's probably worth the gamble. Especially if they have a return policy.

just call the parts desk at your local dealer and ask them to reference that part number. it is definitely in the OEM sequence, so just call and ask them to quote you that part and what is it, that way you can verify it is the same item.

if you also need to replace the actual TBs, I got mine from Ebay, got the OEM part, they are made by Bosch, I have a thread here called "problem" where I placed the part numbers there if you need them.
