Newbie shopping and need a bit of advice
Hello
I think i have decided that a C63 coupe is my next car
Im looking at 2012/13 models with the facelift
definately looking for a P31 or P88 (edition 1 or 507 is preferred) with carbon interior.
Anything specific I should look into or look out for? I have done a lot of reading here but a nice list compiled in one thread would be nice.
also what price range should I be in with 30-40K miles on a great condition car.
not looking for wrecks or high miles or beat up cars, etc. want something mint
Of course everyone is going to have their own opinion and different cars will have a different $ but im looking to take your info and get an average.
for reference
I have looked at a black/black P31 with 38K miles for $48K
any advice is appreciated

I'm also looking for a C63 coupe! Pretty hard to find the right one, huh?
I've seen that around 30K-40K miles the coupes are ~$40K+. I haven't seen a coupe dip nto the $30Ks.
I've seen 20K miles for around $48K-$50K and that is my budget. I think that P31 you're seeing for $48K is too much with 38K miles. If you want that car, $45K or less would be a better deal.
I test drove a 2012 P31 and LSD coupe and MB wanted $48K but it only had 28K miles (it had every option available). I also found a P31 with 14K miles for $51K which is pretty reasonable.
Good luck with the search!

just found one in NC
38K miles for 43500 but that seems a bit high with what you are telling me
I figured its a bit high
dont think Ill be able to get my money back out of it
more of an issue is it may be toward the end of 3 yr vs 50K miles and close to out of warranty
that means another 15-2500 to extend it

Lighting package is a must-have. Aftermarket pricing is prohibitive.
P31 is a nice-to-have but you don't want to overpay for it. An aftermarket tune will match the power.
It's important to recognize that you will NOT get your money out of it no matter which C63 you pick. The single most expensive part of owning one of these is the depreciation. Expect value to drop by more than $500/month. We buy these for the fun they deliver, not because they are an investment that you can get your money back out of.

I agree, lighting package is a must have. I saw one without the lighting package, it looks very dated.
If you don't want to tune and do that stuff, might as well get a P31. If you don't care and want to tune, go for the base and save a few dollars. As long as you get a good deal, it'll be great either way.

I'm really looking to buy the car- drive it for 4-6 months, then sell it for something different. I know Ill probably lose a bit but I would lose if i was leasing or keeping long term as well. $500/month in loss is crazy though. I really cant see the car dropping that much that fast if its a 2012/13..... this is why I picked that year - please tell me if I'm wrong though.
I'm just looking to have fun at this point and drive a few different cars.
Can anyone tell me how to know if the car has a lighting package? its out of state?
I guess i could call MBUSA with the VIN
what would/should be the MOST I should pay for this car and still be able to sell it without significant loss

I'm in GA - so no snow and the car is also in the southeast
either way would be a hard sell as you mentioned.
if I could get a p31 with carbon, and Lane tracking (not lane assist)
dont know about lighting yet.... for say $43K + taxes (Dealer is asking $48K).... how am I doing?
Still too much for the miles?
