The reason I ask is this car has red brakes so either somebody has painted them or....?

It doesnt seem to have the suede steering wheel though....

The vin decoder didnt tell me much.

What color is the intake manifold? Light gray or a darker (titanium) gray?

Jshimer23 way would be the absolute way to tell. That VIN is funky though, is there an AMG decal on the calipers? Does the car have a carbon fiber spoiler?

Ask Valvestud (forum member) to pull your datacard. Should say if it has PP.

That car seems to be like mine. When I picked mine up it had CF rear lip and the red calipers with AMG logo but no upgraded steering wheel and no PP on build sheet.

I'd ask you the same question, what color is your intake manifold. Anyone can take a non P31 car, paint the calipers red and toss on a CF rear lip. I highly doubt someone would go through the trouble of paying for, and then installing the Titanium Gray intake manifold that comes on the P31 cars. If they'd go through that much hassle I'd also expect them to swap over the steering wheel too in order to complete the "visual" package of a p31.

Vavlestud pulling the data card should help find the answer too. A trip to the dealership could also solve the question.

Yea I know mine isn't and I've reviewed the build sheet. I'd imagine this car is in the same boat as mine and has some of the visual upgrades done is all.

Data card will reveal. Try to google the VIN too, I've found almost every vin I've been looking at has already been posted in a forum somewhere.

The delivery date is 2008 so I can tell you that it is not a p31 car just based on that.

For reference though, if you are looking at the data card for a newer car and are unsure, look for the following codes (you won't see p31 on the datacard as it refers to a group of codes) including:

Code 923 - "OUTPUT INCREASE OF ENGINES" This is the big one, the p31 extra +30 hp
Code 251 - higher top speed
Code P30 - AMG PERFORMANCE PACKAGE. Note that Mercedes codes this as p30 even on the p31 cars (probably to confuse you).

U70 is the code for factory red calipers, which this car doesn't have, so someone painted them.

I like how people are like "have valvestud get the datacard." The link is the datacard. A pdf from valvestud will show the same thing.

Sweet thanks for that guys. I was looking at this car on the local trade and exchange website and was like is it a PP? But it obviously isnt. Pitty as it looks nice enough.

A tune will get you more BHP than the PP. If it's a good car, I wouldn't let the lack of PP dissuade you. You can also add LSD.

Here are some photos of that I've done...

- Repainted calipers with a 3M white AMG decal on there instead of the gloss Black
- Satin black 3M 507 stripes (i know its not a 507 I was very very very skeptical about this as Im not the one to put an AMG badge on a non-AMG... the stripes just look amazing I recon!!)
- wrapped front grille in 3M Gloss black and rubber painted the silver star in a satin black
- Wrapped the rear spoiler in 3M Gloss Black and the rear chrome strip underneath in the 3M satin black
- Tinted the windows with 3M Colorstable 35% film
- Wrapped the chrome window surrounds in 3M Gloss black
- 19 inch TSW nurburgring in Satin black instead of the gunmetal grey wrapped with P-Zeros
- Taken out the secondary Cats off

Things I need to do to finish it off:
- 3M Gloss Black Roof for the panoramic look
- 3M Gloss Black side mirrors and maybe cover that disgusting pre-facelift reflector on top of the indicator
- Remove the horrible monsoons as I don't smoke
- Apply 3M paint protection film on the front of the bumper and other vulnerable areas as the car is still immaculate.

This is my second C63 and I just absolutely love it... The vehicle is now in New Zealand where I run a window tinting, wrapping etc... company in Auckland called Uniquetints.co.nz
