Hey guys I have a little problem. My passenger side rear axle has a boot torn and coming off and a metal ring showing on the end connecting to the differential, the can boot. I cant find anything on this topic for a c63 in the forum and idk whether I can repair that end and put it back on or do I have to buy a whole new axle? From what I saw they cost around 1g and I don't really want to do that. If anyone can help at all please do!!

Don't drive it until you have a solution in place. Centrifugal force will eject all the grease and the joint will fail in a short period of time. Sorry don't know if you can buy a new boot and clamps or not.

It should be something that can be repaired. I did the work myself on an old RX-7 I owned and unless there is something really specific to Mercedes it shouldn't be significantly different. It required removing the wheel, brakes, hub, and then the half shaft. Getting the hub off the outside end required a puller which you can buy cheap or even rent from most auto parts stores. Took the shafts to a local shop to rebuild, re-grease, and new boots. I could have done that myself too but didn't have the work space for it and the shop was cheap since I brought them in loose. I'd be sure to mark the bolts and where it lines up to the differential with paint so I could put them back in exactly where they came out.
Yea I definitely won't be driving it for awhile bc I also have an engine problem, either lifters or cam adjusters I suspect. I'm working on getting 2 rear axles from a guy who parted his c63 out. If I do then I'll pull mine off and take it somewhere to see about having it rebuilt. Wasn't sure if they had a rebuild kit available for them or not. Stupid $800-1000 axles....
Hi, did you ever find a repair boot kit? I had work done on my exhaust and just had a quick inspection under the car when the car was hoisted and discovered that both mine are torn right around.
I'm going to be mad if I need to buy a whole shaft just because of that.
I'm pretty sure boots are universal. I don't know how to determine which one to use or how hard it would be to find one for this car, but there's probably a standard aftermarket one you can throw on there.
