WRAPPING A CAR ILLEGAL OR NO?
I live in NY and my car is white, I think it's a little boring.
I'm thinking about wrapping my car like matte red or orange.
Is it legal to wrap my car for daily driving? Do I have to contact the DMV or update my registration or anything to wrap my car?

shouldn't be an issue, unless there's an APB out on your white car.....

You could put zebra stripes on the car and it does not matter. how many cars do you see out there with advertisement all over them

What if I wrap the entire car including the inside door jams? I heard if you wrap the door jams you have to tell the DMV and legally change your car color in NY is that true?

the NY state DMV is the worst. I've lived all over this country and I've had more issues with their total boneheadedness than anywhere else. I doubt it's illegal, but take a look at their web site. Then wrap it. I've seen plenty of wrapped cars so I assume it's OK.

It's not illegal to do, as long as DMV record is updated (same as if you respray or plasti-dip). Even though wraps are not classified as permanent fixture, registration still is used to identify color of car. Typically it's one of those things that is so minor, no one in authority will bother you about it, but if you're like those Sheiks in Dubai wrapping in chrome, cops might harass you as the sun reflection might pose a danger, but other than that, you'll be fine.

dude, this advice is as garbage as the rest. I called them. Multiple times. You think they actually answer the phone? Hell no. They don't answer any phones, ever. Unless your license is suspended or if you have serious issues where they're getting paid, then they're not available. But feel free to call and browse their wonderful selection of available pre-recorded phone messages...
