Well, like you said: just your 2 cents.
Well the M5 is a great car, don't get ne wrong but I tracked my M5 and the M3 was far better, also my C63 is better. The M5's interior is lacking in quality materials in my opinion. If you liok on the M boards you will find a lot of issues with peeling of the coatings on the steering wheel, door panels and such. I have not seen that to date here. The quality of leather and workmanship in these Merc's are world class. Yes you will see stuff here and there I am sure, but its dar better than my M5 was. Far better.

Fair enough. We had diffenrent experiences with equal platforms. In terms of track cars, my experience has shown me that the M3 is a better track car over C63 and slightly better vs the M5 depending on the track due to its tossable nature. However, at tracks with long straights such as COTA, I'll take the M5.

i won't comment on the track part of this. but you have got to be kidding me, the m5's interior is way ahead of the c63. i think the design crew for the c63 interior was completely lost. it's very average looking.

Yeah the M3 is a very good track car, but I would take the C63 over the M5. The C63's limiting factor are the wheels.

The M5 is very nice, but if it's layout you're talking about, that is more objective and I cannot say to you or someone else that another layout is better since that is a more personal choice. I can say having owned both cars that the C63's quality of materials and fit and finish are better. As I said before, I liked the IDrive of the BMW better personally, but layout for me, and the quality of materials goes to the C63.

The M5 doesn't handle like the M3 and is not the best engineered car of the M family. I have had issues with some light interior and exterrior trim items. Its not at all cheap like A GM/Caddy, not even close but my C has more and better built interior stuff. Seats, carpets, leather all better in the C. Sound, feel handeling also The C is better. Although the I Drive is in my opinion better than what we have in the Merc's but that's an opinion. For a long drive, i would go with the M5, but I like my C63 a lot better for overall enjoyment. My 2 cents.
I second this. I have owned M3, M5, 645CI all at the same time and they all aged roughly the same with me NOT driving them daily. I wasn't impressed. I started to hear rattles and creeks with in 3 years. My C63 is much nicer all the way around.

This and that.
I made the switch from C63 to M3 and prefer it a LOT more than the C63. Overall enjoyment of the car is so much more in the M3 even with the lack of torque. I have driven the M4 extensively (new) and loved it but didn't enjoy it as much as I do my M3. It's just a completely different monster, with different dynamics that appeal to people in different stages of their lives.

Not a big fan of non-v8's other than looks. I gotta tell you this high revving v8 engine is something. I've got a Dinan tune, Dinan full exhaust and Dinan carbon fibre intake and it freaking sounds amazing going through the shifts. The DCT transmissions is absolutely gorgeous. One thing I thought I would miss from the C63 was the sound but not at all actually.
