Dynoed my 2012 P31 - low numbers help

I have not dyno'ed a car in a while not since my SC E36 M3. here is what I remember. Taking all the differences in atmospheric conditions, elevation and variation in cars ASIDE. We are left with different types of dynos. You will definitely need to take this into account.
DYNOJETS are dream makers because they normally read the highest. Mustang Dynos and Dyno Dynamics are heart breakes because they read low compared to DynoJets. This you can google.
As such if you want to be on the upper half of the C63 dyno numbers. Go and try a Dynojet.
Yet another reason to only use a dyno to evaluate the effectiveness of a mod instead of actual car horsepower.

I really think there may be an issue with mine.

Dynos are designed for tuning and MEASURING HORSEPOWER. Ask your tuner if any temperature correction was used. It should be in the bottom left of the screen and read 1.000. Some people that own a Dynamics use a correction factor to please their customers. This is something that should be well known, but it is not. Not one person I have ever encountered seems to grasp this concept. When I operated the shops that I worked at Dynamics I could make your 100 whp car read 1000 if I wanted to.
Your car is dead on for an uncorrected Dyno Dynamics. Hit the track and look at your mph. That will always be the best.

Here you go
409/390
Hot day and Dynojet uncorrected. And I'm at 370.... 40 whp off... again I'd be good with 10-15 off but 40?

Im not familiar with dyno dynamics so cant really comment, was ur car driven hard before the dyno?our cars adapt to hard driving its crazy it can gain up to 30whp on the dyno first run vs like 5th run ive witnessed it alot of times

Call the company where you dynod you car and ask what I said. 340 on a Dynamics is more like 410 on a Dyno Jet. Don't worry about it unless you've ran your car at the track and confirmed your suspicion. Then dig in to it.

All 4th gear pulls in manual mode with dyno mode on.
This could be the issue though. ECU didn't "learn" enough

Thanks. Already sent a message. Waiting for response

Not sure where you live, OP, but dyno again when the weather really cools down. You'll get more power when temps go below 50.
The best part of the year for big V8s when the weather cools down and the cars feel like they gained 50HP overnight.

So youre in Atlanta?
Me too. Marietta area. Would love to see your car and compare . Maybe even dyno back to back on the same to see whose junk is bigger lol
Seriously though I'd be willing to pay the 75 for 3 pulls from someone else to compare.

I bet they would run the same. I am sure we are talking about the same place. Dyno lab in Marrietta. The numbers I posted seem completely normal.
I am down for going back on a nice cool fall night for dyno night. I have a few buddies that would also go.

I know of eight C63's in stock configuration (over time, not same day, and all rated at the MB original 451) run on the same Dyno Dynamics dyno. The highest was around 370 RWHP, so based on that you're in the ballpark.

Best advice in the thread, trap speed will give you the best measure of where your car is HP wise, and eliminate all the confusion/back and forth of this thread. Imagine if you go make a pass and trap 117 all the dyno confusion will be solved!

A dynamometer or "dyno" for short, is a device for measuring force, torque, or power. For example, the power produced by an engine, motor or other rotating prime mover can be calculated by simultaneously measuring torque and rotational speed (RPM).
A method of measurement.
If that measurement is inaccurate.
You can't be sure the device will measure innacurately, consistently.
It's like a broken scale. You know its off. But you don't know by how much, or what percentage depending on the measurement.
The problem with using a quarter mile test is introducing additional variables.
Coefficient of friction, the tires, track surface area. VHT if used or not. Windage.
Lazy12g raises a good point about knowing the software used.
My advice is discuss that with the individual who performed the dyno test.
Ask specific questions.
From the responses you can determine yourself if he/she is qualified to operate the software.
It would be nice to leave the conversation with absolute confidence so you can rule that part out.
I have read similar low horsepower scenarios on other brand message boards.
I don't recall any common conclusions identified.

You are assuming a great launch, no spin, good traction. Basically a good run.
