I'm back into a W204.. from a W205.
Well guys I'm back to a W204 after a few months with a W205.
It's a MY14, C63, white, black int, LSD.
I'll be adding some tasteful mods, and chiming in here and there for ideas.
Thinking:
tint
black wrap roof
paint wheels black
red calipers
euro side markers
headers / tune - not sure which ones to run (yet)... hoping these two mods will get me back to W205 et's.....
If you're wondering why the switch... I could not stand the build quality of my particular W205.... side skirts fell off, and finally the straw that broke the camel's back.... the damn dash sounded like an old bed spring over dips in the road.... so I gave this car to the wife, and she gave me her W204.
win-win.

was built in Alabama Roll Tide.
.......
Wife's happy with it, so it's all good.
......
Most stock W205's run 12.0's.... there is one guy who claims to run 11.6 stock.

LOW 11's!... that will suffice.
Can you rec headers/tune? I know it's a controversial topic, so I'll do some searching.
EC is in town, renntech is another option,,, and I don't mind driving to see cory in co springs @ klee.
time to do some research.

I knew it!
There be more who saw the glitter of the new model only to be disappointed with the quality of the product. It will make more money for Mercedes I am sure. In fact I still find it hard to believe they were able to deliver the W204 c63 product at the prices they did. That motor alone has be $50K.

Purple.... calling me out! Yup it won't be for long. Loosing man card fast.
She's super happy with the trade.... she likes the audio, and foot-kick opening rear trunk... chick stuff
I'm really happy to be back in the W204.

Like others have mentioned, LT's and tune is your best performance upgrade. I have heard all the LT setups in person and personally love the way the MHP V2 headers (made by American Racing Headers). I run that exact same setup right now. The build quality is what you would expect from a large exhaust manufacturer.

THx for the welcome back...... to the club.
I'll keep my eye open for a group buy on headers.
I have my old EC tune box from my ML63.... wonder is EC can use my old ML63 hand-held tuner box for the C.
THX all.

Going to be adding (from my 2010) MBH LTH, cattted mids and x-pipe this winter. Loved then on my 2010. They did make me look over my shoulder a little bit and watch the throttle angles in public areas and worry about scaring other drivers passing at speed on the highway. But OMG what a rush.
EC will reset your mygenious "if" you downloaded the EC tune from the ML before you sold it. Speak to Jerry.

crushing 12's in a header/tune c63 204 car is a bit of an hyperbole. Lets be realistic if you're running drag radials and get a killer launch 11.8/9. slicks maybe an 11.7 at best. Which a 205 could potentially do in stock form. Im going to be realistic with you and say if you want actually beat her in a straight line you're going need to throw down on a supercharger kit. Headers and tune on a 204 will get you close in power but you'll probably get walked on the highway. Lets also not forget that the 205 is a tune away from enough power to run with a stage 2 blown 204 c63. I say go with the weistec stage 1 kit. It will keep the car at near stock drivability with no down falls. No excessively loud exhaust etc... and smog legal. That will get you beating her, If she gets a tune down the road then you can throw headers on if necessary.
Having driven plenty of c63 204 cars with all sorts of mods and a new 205 c63s let me give you my 2 cents.
They are 2 totally different cars. The 205 feels way faster than a header/tune 204, the low end torque the turbo's make have the car pulling hard even at 2000rpms. The 205's transmission has a noticeable improvement in shift times and response times compared to 204 aswell. I love the new v8 biturbo motor it's one bad mother. Turbo lag ? yea it's there, is it horrible? no. But you know when you hit the throttle. Specifically when it's not enough to initiate a downshift that the turbos have to cook up to get you going. Thats where the good stops, although the 205 is a touch lighter it feels big and bulky in comparison. The steering is electric and weighted strangely light probably to make the car feel more light and agile. The 205 has a bunch of suspension settings which do little for the car but make it feel even more detached. I feel like maybe its something to do with softer suspension bushings, no clue though it's tought to describe. The 204 c63 suspension and steering feel are night and day better. Stiffer, more solid, tighter, more precise and provide better feed back. The 204 just feels much more raw and pure of a car in comparison where the 205 is a few steps farther towards luxury than all out performance. The 204's motor has instant repsonse and makes you dream of getting it on a road course knowing it can dominate, 205 just has you thinking dang this is a badass daily driver. Both have killer brakes and are overall awesome cars but the feel is very different overall.
bottom line is they are 2 different animals. Overall the 204 was a step more hardcore to finally slaughter m3's, where the 205 is step towards a do it all, more practical daily driver that is fast as crap. The 205 drives alot like 211 e-class with a different motor and electric steering. That is in no way an insult because I love those cars and almost bought a 211 e55, still wouldnt mind picking up a clean one but it's just no 204 c63.

I would still be driving the W205 if it wasn't a pc of garage from quality..... the dash is literally falling in my lap..... i know that sounds strong.... but the long amplitude sqeeeeek from dip to dip is just not MB quality........ i had 100K miles fox body mustangs with nary a squeak like this.....
If it was not for the funky dash noises I'd still be driving that car.
agreed on all points on the w204.... steering, handling, accell N/A much more engaging.
headers/tune in the future.
High 11's will be fine for me.
Thx all for the comments. I'm sure the w205 will be fine once all the bugs are sorted.

It's not a hyperbole. C63s around these parts run 11.9-12.1 stock. Long tubes and a good tune and they're easily 11.5s. Figure in track prep, a good 60, and good tires, low 11s.
Not sure where you all live, but you guys can't take where you are and compare it to other places. DA etc. all play a factor.
On another thread, people were saying their C63s trap 108-110. That's a joke. E39 M5s ran that in 2000.
OP-
Long tubes, a solid tune, good track prep, good tires. You'll see low 11s.
You don't need a blower to keep up with a stock 205, please.

Just my opinion however I can't see how Mercedes could put the star on the w205. I would be ashamed and the people that pay the money that they are for it is beyond me. I will say the new coupe looks a 10000000000X better but then how could it get any worse?
