ROW boxes and weistec filters
Just installed the ROW boxes and weistec filters last night. Have not driven the car enough to notice any big difference. But the exhaust sound seems a little different. Especially at lower revs. More gurgles. I guess the engine also revs more freely (or just my imagination). Will post a before/after video when I get a chance.
I have never ever done any kind of DIY on any of my cars . This was my first ever DIY (apart from installing the ec v5 tune). I know installing airboxes and filters are child's play for most of you on the forum!
But I really enjoyed it! Took me about an hour... maybe hour and a half. Once I had figured out one side, the other side was just a few minutes. You get a really nice kind of satisfaction when you successfully complete a DIY! Most time consuming part oddly, was removing that front cover and unplugging the MAF sensors. Did not see that there was a release switch/lever for those MAF plugs!
I think these compliment the ec v5 tune well
Thanks to Tal at ACG for the boxes and filters. Was really patient with me with all my stupid questions!

Very nice and congrats on the install . Yea that front cover is a pain, I noticed when I first did mine that the previous owner/dealer didn't pull evenly and cracked the cover where the tabs were (I ended up just replacing it).
I agree that it does slightly sound more healthy/free though. First thing is tune and filters...then it's headers and exhaust...then it's a supercharger!!

Like others already mentioned, ACG is based out of San Diego and they have a lot of experience with AMGs. Great guys to work with.
The ones that I got were slightly used on one of their project cars I think. So they were able to give me a good deal on it.

yes i am wondering about acquiring the ROW boxes. ECS seems to have a kit including the AFE filters for the same price as the weistec kit on vivid racing that does not say which filters it comes with

Keep in mind that the ROW airboxes that most companies sell are actually OEM parts. They are really just the lids without the charcoal filters and less restrictive inlets, basically. You could get the OEM boxes from someplace like parts.com or mboemparts.com and source whatever filters you like (I used AFE pro-dry, just because) and typically come out a bit cheaper that way. Not to take anything away from the companies that put those packages together. Yes, MAF's come on the OEM ROW lids. I haven't spent any time with my car with them on yet to report back on any improvements or cost/value ratio.
Just my $0.02.

US & Canada have the same boxes with carbon filters, plastic mesh to hold the filters and modified air horn to make room for the filters.
