In California (just for reference, maybe NJ is the same) dealers have to have some form of a bond ($10K in CA) and you can go after the bond company for the deeds of the dealer. Also, if you financed the car through a loan arranged and assigned by the dealer, in CA the finance company is subject to all of the same claims and defenses as the dealer. So even if the dealer is gone, you can go after the finance company and they will often cancel the loan under pressure from a lawyer with a fee shifting statute behind him (again, in CA we have these). Make sure you talk to the right lawyer, someone who practices consumer protection law.

I'd try calling Eurowise or GMP in Charlotte and getting their thoughts... I'd imagine that could be spot welded... But they can probably provide better advice than any of us.
Personally, I'd have a tough time ditching the car. I'd probably look into an engine swap because that seems to be the best way to minimize loss at that point.

An update!
Hello! I just got my car back. I got an engine off of ebay and got it rebuilt at GMP performance in NC. They did a good job. Now, the only thing left is replacing the wheels..looking for a set.
Thank you for all the help!

Glad to hear you got the Ebay engine rebuilt and the car running. Good luck finding the wheels you want.

Wow, just saw this thread. You really had some bad luck with a dodgy dealer.
Really happy that you have managed to get a new engine installed in your car.
Now you can enjoy it.
