2008, currently stock. Dipstick level doesn’t even change after 3k miles. Suspension wise it needs some work. Shocks are toast, ordered coilovers. That’s pretty much it.

how long have you owned it? Original motor? 199k is def on the higher side for this engine in terms of what I’ve seen posted impressive.

I’ve owned it for a few years. When I got it, it was around 140k. Yes everything is original. Cams and lifters all original. To be honest I think this car can run forever pretty much. No signs of slowing down.

how can you know that for certain? You got it at 140k I would think a few owners before you. Not saying not possible I’m just saying how do you really know that.

Because I personally knew 2 owners before me. Also I’ve opened the valve covers myself and everything is original. The valve cover gasket was even original because previous owners never changed it.

why did you do that? Curious if you knew them so well shouldn’t have to check. Also not sure how you could tell original from 0 miles to 199k. Oem could get replaced with oem and look the same. Not starting anything just weird you would need to check this if you knew the owners.

maybe what he’s saying is he’s the 3rd owner and his friends before him told him that his bolts are stock, it’s not uncommon for 156 to be genuinely reliable, after talking to a few mercedes specialist shops yesterday it seems many 156’s go over 200k stock everything, a handful of headbolts are obv bad but they where saying it’s a hit or miss with the bolts themselves

I didn’t open the covers to check. The gaskets were leaking bad and the cam adjuster housing gaskets were leaking too. This was at 150k btw. I can tell just by the way the gaskets came off that they have never been changed. And I doubt any of the valve train has been changed and if it was then the original owner must of done it at a low mileage and somehow forgot to change the headbolts while he was at it.

so in reality you have no idea just guessing. I’m happy for you sounds like a solid whip at almost 200k. Makes me feel good for sure having my car. Just verifying is all. Also from what I read your car was tuned and has exhaust mods not stock. Even better for long term beatings. I like to drive spirited and with only 52k on my 2012 I have a ton of life. Love this car had it for 5 1/2 years the best whip I have owned. I baby this thing my wife gets pissed lol. Might pay more attention to it lol.

Not sure where you get this idea that I have no idea. I just laid everything out for you. I’ve known all the previous owners personally and know everything they have done with the car. The guy that bought the car from the original owner at low mileage was completely oblivious to the known c63 problems much less the infamous headbolts. So In the unlikely event that the original owner changed the cams and lifters, the headbolts would have been updated because once the cams and lifters are removed 75% of the headbolt job is done. Not to mention it’s pretty obvious to the trained eye when someone has done that kind of engine work before. There will be traces of someone being there before.

ok lol I don’t think you truly know. Regardless solid ride for a 3 owner almost 200k car. Not convinced but still good to see and hear if there is a glimpse of truth.

Don’t be salty that your car will never have hopes of reaching this type of mileage with all it’s problems that it’s has had. Second of all I seen your previous posts and your clearly an idiot and can’t fix your own car.

im sure your time here will be short. I’ll still be around. Yup I can’t wrap for ****. That ain’t for everyone. I don’t have the patience. I’ll pay all day. I was successful at a few pieces but not my thing. Sounds like your an expert. Want to do mine. Doesn’t mean I can’t work on cars but thanks I don’t need to explain myself to you. I’m glad your dash display says 199k miles on the 3rd motor everything looks stock yup I’m sure it does.

Ok well I wish I could tell you to enjoy your car but I fancy it must be hard with it at the shop all the time. While mine has yet to set foot at a shop or dealership under my ownership. I guess jealousy is just love and hate at the same!

nope zero jealously I’m glad your car is solid. Only reason I ever took my car to the shop was cause I could afford buying a car that didn’t already have 140k miles on it and it had a warranty. Why would I do the work when the dealer can. My car been a tank no real issues I didn’t do myself with drag radials that the warranty paid for solid. I do all work on my cars mods maintenance ect ect once out of warranty. Sounds like your a salty kid it’s ok.

2013 c63 amg coupe p31
[QUOTE=AA717driver;6680949]I'm planning on keeping my 63 for a long time. I hear of a lot of low mileage cars which sound like garage queens.

Who drives theirs 7-15k miles/year?

What issues do you have (aside from tires and brakes...I got 90k miles on a 2012 c63 p31. I've driven 35k plus miles this last year. no issues besides replacing a dumb tpms
