HRE Wheels | Daily Shop Life - Pictures inside HRE Performance Wheels' Facility
HRE Performance Wheels, over the last 30 years, has been designing, engineering and manufacturing top-tier quality wheels in the automotive industry. That you may already know, but what you may not know or what you may not see is what we do here on a (daily/weekly) basis, and that's our intention with this thread. We want to invite you to take a look at some photos that we have posted up of things that we have going on around the shop! For those who are unable to come and visit us during our open house that we have, this thread is an opportunity to get another view inside HRE Performance Wheels, and to see all the fun things we're working on in the process.
1-Piece wheel in the process of being machined
3-Piece center in the process of being machined (S204 Wheel)
A couple of our 4-axis Toyoda machines putting in some work!

S204 Centers after getting brushed (not cleaned yet so they appear dirty)
HRE P101 Wheels out from being hand brushed
P40SC's and some P101's look to be ready to ship out soon

One thing you may notice is that the spokes are thicker, this is because they are going onto an SUV, therefore the load rating has to be higher to make sure they can take the abuse

Awesome thread.. The one thing in my agenda is to fly to one of ur open house in the near future.
My friend lives in El Monte, how far are u from there?
This is my 6th set so I'm really curious to see the stage of production.

El Monte is in Los Angeles County and HRE's Facility is in San Diego County.

Other than us, you're now one of the first to see some details on the S204 wheel, one of our most unique and complex wheels. Machining times are insane on these, but you can see from the detail of the angles of the spoke, why it takes more time. Truly is a thing of beauty:

As for the S204, they are nice wheels but I find they only suits big chassis cars or exotic cars. Not so nice on small cars like the C63. Maybe u can prove me wrong & post a pic of those wheels on a C63 or M3.

Thx for the infos, still worth the drive.. Hope I can make it this year for ur open house.

A Tesla Model X came to play during our Tesla event this week with HRE P101 Wheels on!
We built a set of 19" R101's to test for Cayman GT4's
We have two wheels below. A set of P103's and a set of P107's just after being brushed - Note - the little specs of dirt here and there are from the brushing process. These wheels aren't clear coated yet prior to being cleaned, but you can really see the grain structure of the brushing here:

Missed out on last week because some of the crew including myself were in Slovenia meeting with Akrapovič at their facility. Here's some photos from this week!

Had an exciting week that will be even more exciting by tomorrow! We are hosting the 5th Annual Targa Traphy German Car Festival tomorrow, so we're looking forward to seeing all you there who are attending!
Last Saturday we hosted a Corvette/HRE Experience Event at our facility. We grabbed lots of photos including some customer cars such as this gorgeous Z06

You guys sure do make some amazing wheels. Very interesting seeing the pics of the wheels at the various stages of production. Just shows how much work goes into manufacturing these wheels.

Starting off April right with some new FlowForm colors being introduced, S200's for the first time that I've seen in Brushed Dark clear as well!
