Not loud enough!😐

Just did a resonator delete on my car, waaaayyy too quiet for me, need an idea of how to get it louder. Would the secondaries make it louder or only a little bit louder. Sort of want to stay away from the mufflers right now.

Thnks!

Straight pipe your secondary cats. You'll love it.

Same here. It sounds very good, but could definitely use even more volume.

I wonder what it would sound like to remove the mufflers and re-install the resonator...

^ The mufflers are really like amplifiers in the sense they really give you that AMG tone. I seriously recommend not removing them.

On the other hand, c63 mufflers sell to the e55 crowd like hot cakes. For good reason too. They make that distinct sound we all love so much. So if you hack yours off you can make a quick buck

Quick fix to more noise if you already have a res / secondary cat delete is just dropping your rear seats. After that, the only way to really go is headers. But, if you run headers with a secondary cat and res delete don't plan on starting your car late at night without pissing people off.

I deleted my secondaries and resonator with x pipe. Waaay too quiet! It drives nice though but I perfer the sound. I was thinking of putting my cats back and and straight pipe my resonators. I did that originally and it sounded good. Louder then stock.

Best combo I have heard was long tubes coupled with Mike power pipe (straight or H). It sounds outstanding and is incredibly loud.

just straight pipe it off the headers right back to the mufflers with no cats at all ..its probably pretty comparable to LTH's ..2-3 levels down but still loud ..does stink kinda bad though when you WOT it

Just take off the exhaust entirely and shoot smokestacks right off the block and up through the hood

I did this on my C63 -- just haven't updated my build thread. Liked the look for about a month, but then got bored of it. Bought a new hood, resprayed it, welded everything back up, but now I'm back to square one...

Don't know what to do.

Add a resister to keep the ECU from throwing a coded message.

Removing pieces is good for 'noise' not actual exhaust sound. Resonators will help with drone as removing those would increase the noise level, but also drone at the same time which is not going to be extremely pleasant to deal with.

A tuned exhaust system such as the one Akrapovič makes, is a tuned sound that will give you something to listen to that wont be obnoxious. Might be worth a listen to:

^ He want's louder, not quieter, and the Akra system definitely quiets these cars down.

I'm running Mikes-H with straights through the resonator. No drone whatsoever and any speed or rpm. Just took it out for the first time in months today and ripped it under a highway overpass, instant stress relief.

Why anyone would change the OEM mufflers is beyond me - they are the perfect amplifiers and sound awesome!

No offense, but this doesn't sound good at all in my opinion. Seems to have muffled the car quite a bit actually and have completely removed the "bark" you get from resonator and secondary cat removal.

I know Akra makes some awesome exhausts, E9X's system, is a good example, but they definitely missed the mark with the C63.

Akrapovič exhaust systems are definitely not louder, but quieter at idle. It has a distinct roar (if one could describe it this way) with NO rasp whatsoever.

Not to everyones taste. Definitely not to mine.

I have IPE headers with straight pipes to mufflers, was too loud and too raspy that i welded the OEM resonator back on. Was drawing too much attention on small WOTs....

Well I just got this car, my previous car was a pontiac g8 gt 6.0L with LT headers and just straight pipes all the way back, this was my daily and I loved it. I did the secondary cat/res delete, still quiet, but I am going to leave it like that to leave the amg tone. Maybe I will look into e-cutouts later down the road.
