You fellas mind looking at my Blackstone Oil analysis?

Just got this back today in the email. First time I ever had my oil analyzed. Just wanted to get your feedback on the numbers and the comments made by the person at Blackstone who reviewed the results. He said the iron and nickel are high, but told me that the tappets in our motors are high in nickel, so that might be why.

Thx in advance for any help in making sense of these!

What oil where you using for that sample?
Your viscosity looks very diluted. I hope the oil was changed when you took the sample. The Iron and Nickle wear may be valve train wear caused by viscosity dilution or perhaps the wear protection additives in the oil are somewhat depleted.

Whatever the dealer used which u believe was 5w40 MB oil or mobil 1. I changed to mobil 1 ow40 this time and yes the oil was changed. Wonder why they didn't mention anything about the viscosity. Any advice?

Take another sample at half the service interval and evaluate the condition of the oil at that time. If it is showing poor results get it changed. I think 10000 miles is too long an interval for most oil depending on driving style and conditions.

Haha...5K...stupid phone. Hopefully changing to 0w40 with its better additives will help along with a 6K mile interval instead of 10k
