anyone with p31 renntech tuning here? oil and coolant temp
just wondering if this is tune or just p31 development pack thing. this is the first time taking the car out in higher ambient temps and my car hit 240 oil temp and the oil cooler turned on and the car went from 240 to 210 oil temps and coolant went from 197 to 189 degres
IV been driving it hard and now my oil is at 215 and coolant is staying around 190.
is this a normal thing or part of the tuning.ive never seen a car adjust its coolant temps like that while beating on it.

Don't have that tune but sounds completely normal. There is a kit out there to improve cooling that should have been stock. The C63 gets damn warm when run hard and at lower speeds it will get into the 260 range pretty quick. Higher speeds are not as much of an issue.

Most do not drive in conditions that they would see any issues. Driving fast on normal roads or traffic you should not see any issues. If your on a track you may see higher temps but it does depend on your average speed for airflow. The times I see my temps get high are tight twising roads at lower speed. Also if I keep the revs up I see the temps go up.
This road normally warms up the temps pretty good.

Curiosity - what do you mean by "the oil cooler turned on" and how can you tell?

Totally normal.
As for the fan noise I'm not aware of any on the passenger side. At least I don't recall seeing one. The only fan I know is central for the engine radiator.

The Black Series and I think the upgraded cooling package do not have the cooling fan on the aux oil cooler in the passenger front corner. All other cars have it, and it kicks on around 235F and off at about 220F.

Totally normal temps. I tend to only have abnormally warm oil, 230-240, when I am stuck in stop and go traffic. When I push the car, it is generally around 230. Maybe I don't push it as hard as some of you guys do though.

yea I was on the car hard and pulled over and the car sounded like a jet engine fan was on.it's cool how fast the temps drop when that fan kicks on but my main question was the engine coolant temp also dropping from 197-199 to 189-190 and staged there.
I made a video of the temp at 190 and it was after beating the car hard for a while.
is there options to have the tuning turn these fans on earlier?
it was pretty funny because I went through a drive through and the kid was like dude wtf is wrong with your car lol both fans were on blast while the car was idle

OP the best way to cool your engine/oil is to install the Black Series cooling package. It is in the sticky thread. Changing the temperature fan triggering won't help much. This package is a good investment if you are tracking your car. For spirited driving your current cooling system is sufficient.
