M156 C63 2013 Coolant Leak From Pipe Behind Front Of Engine Cover
Hi All
Looking for some advice from anyone who has experienced a similar problem or is an expert with the M156 engine.
Car is a 2013 C63. Coolant light has come on several times since I got the car new but I didn't think too much of it since when I asked Mercedes they didn't seem interested. Finally bullied them into looking at it a bit more carefully and initially they thought there was a problem with the water pump. On closer inspection they now tell me there is a leak behind the 'front of engine cover' and that there is a coolant pipe behind it which is the probable cause. Is the 'front of engine cover' a cover over the timing chain? They have ordered a new cover from Germany and need to take the engine out to fix it. Can anyone explain to me what exactly has happened and whether I should be worried about it? Could it have caused any permanent damage? Is it a common problem? They are doing all the work under warranty now but I'd hate for the warranty to run out and find out there was still a problem.
