My C63 is a little too loud.
Hey guys. i have Agency Power Headers, and Secondary cat delete.
cold starts in the morning are especially nice and loud.
I LOVE the way the car sounds.
however i do wake up early, and im sure my neighbors dont love it as much as i do.
they haven't complained yet, but i do feel a bit guilty.
is there a less restrictive muffler then OEM that will quite it down a bit?
thanks guys!
obligatory cold start video..

The eisenmann does a wonderful job at toning down the exhaust note. I had agency power headers and the eisenmann on and it sounds great. IMHO Way more controlled and refined compared to stock mufflers and long tubes.
I recently upgraded to the Akrapovic evolution setup and it tones the exhaust note down considerably. Sounds almost stock! However the note is menacing it's deep and angry.
I actually have my Eisenmann setup for sale. PM Me if your interested.

Is the resonator gone too? I'd start by putting in the secondary cats and res if it is indeed no longer there.
However, having headers, it really won't quiet down too much.

It's true the x-pipe will quiet it down a little but in my opinion the c63 sounds so bad with an x-pipe. I took it off less than a week of driving and put an h-pipe instead on my last c63.
To the op, with long tube headers, there are plenty of routes to take to quiet them down. Are u just concerned about morning cold starts? If so, just put some old rags to your exhaust tips for the cold start to muffle the sound. And take them off right away after the initial start up. If u want to quiet them down for not just the morning start ups. Do some digging on the forum and see tons of threads for different routes. Plenty of clips too. Even my own clip somewhere in here with custom silencers and h pipe that made my car sound amazing without restricting the flow. Car was super fast and sounded amazing.
Good luck

is the OEM resonator off?
If so, weld it back on.
Mine with IPE headers and cat delete and stock mufflers was too loud, welded the OEM resonator back on and its balanced!

The video sounds very much like mine. I think your resonator is still on.
I thought the same initially as well. But after a week or so, it was ok for me.
Only 15-20 secs loudness on cold start. Your neighbours will soon treat it as a wake up alarm....

I recently bought my 3rd C63. A P31 coupe this time...
The previous owner installed a straight pipe set up...
- secondary cats removed with straight pipes
- resonator removed with straight pipes
- muffler removed with straight pipes (larger diameter)
it still has the "AMG" sound given that i had 2 C63s with stock exhaust and just resonator delete I know what it should sound like ... It is louder, especially from the outside, but I have gotten used to it in the past few weeks. There is a little bit of drone at highway speeds when cruise control is used.
however - what bothers me most is that i feel like the back pressure has been reduced too much, i feel like my previous c63s might have been faster? has anybody experienced similar findings with a muffler delete ?
I already decided that i want to keep the cat & res delete - what can i expect but putting the muffler's back on? will i gain performance? what would happen to the tone? I love the way downshifts sound right now, losing it would make me sad!

Is your primary cats still in place?
I dyno'd my car before and after the muffler delete, and no major difference in power.
Slight difference, but that could be due to weather conditions etc.

You may also want to try the eurocharged tune where they give the option to remove the cold start feature.
