C63 AMG as a first car

Just remember: don't tune your daily.
Good luck, sounds like it's a done deal and you're seeking reassurance
No one is going to recommend this as a first time car. The same as no one would recommend it to a person just learning to drive, it is dangerous.
You can change your fluids and stuff yourself but you will need a Mityvac or something similar. If the car has a warranty, it is just easier to have a shop or dealer do the check ups, that way it is documented as well. There aren't too many major costs besides fuel / tires / mods (the biggest one).
like most 63 owners, I wouldnt recommend it as a first car. not to scare you but ive seen a few experienced and not so experienced drivers have accidents with this, knock on wood, and it is not a pretty sight. especially kids with heavy foot.
that said, its a very beautiful and powerful car and relatively easy to maintain. although could be a bit costly depending on how deep your pocket is.
but like PeterUbers said, looks like your heart is set and just seeking reassurance. goodluck and drive safe. remember to post pics when you get it.

Somehow I remember similar thread from a few months back...
One more thread started by the 12YO? ;-)

My previous E55 wasn't the hardest car I've worked on (older 911 Turbos are a nightmare), but the C63 is a walk in the park in comparison.
As for the C63 being your first car ... well ... yea, not the best idea. Having said that, I've seen mature, younger drivers in powerful cars than some of the idiots in their 30s. It all depends.
Good luck with whatever you decide, learn the car and its limits first.
We'll be the truth tellers.

However, that's neither here nor there. If I could have driven an AMG Mercedes, there would not have been a single person on planet Earth that could have convinced me that it was "too much car". Dude, if you can drive a c63 at 16 years old, go for it. Just try to keep it shiny-side-up, don't kill yourself and make sure you get the panties out of your car before the next girl gets in
ive seen a lot of youngsters with 1.2l engine cars (assuming its their 1st car) who drives like their drving ferraris on a video game. weaving in and out of traffic, speeding, tailgating, overtaking on uncertain situations. not just putting their lives in danger but other motorists as well.
its not that some experienced adults dont do the same but imagine a 6.3l engine in the hands of an inexperienced driver. would you wanna be on the same road with that kid?

With that said, go ahead and ask daddy to get it. If we can get a bunch in the hands of new drivers, maybe after they're all wrecked it will increase the value of the ones left.
