I know a lot of us have Michelins, mostly PSS'. I have A/S3's because it has a high wear rating. My rears went a whopping 12,000 miles, which is a huge difference from 5,000 I was getting from my Bridgestones. Today I had the rears replaced and applied the warranty. Basically got two rears for the price of one. I'm sold. Not news here, I'm sure, just felt like sharing.

my rear pss had to be replaced at about 6k miles they were down to 2 on the tread.
Michelin warranty on a staggered setup is 1/2 so it covered up to 15k miles which means like you i basically got 2 tires for the price of one.
think the only time ive ever paid fullprice for tires is when its a fresh set on a new car.

The inner block of my front contis is almost worn through, but the rest looks OK. If this happens to the PSS, does Michelin cover the aggressive camber/toe in the front, or will they say that's an alignment issue?
Not sure. Mine were actually pretty badly worn in the middle, which is weird bc I'm religious with the air pressures. Didn't have any issues with the warranty. One weird thing, though, is the tire guy said if the Michelins were worn out beyond a certain point that they might push back bc it would be evidence of over use or abuse, which I don't get at all.

Hey Maximus,
I too have the AS/3 and love them (on my second pair). How did you apply the warranty? like what's the steps?

I just went back to the shop I bought from and they measured the tread depth. Easy peasy. I'm sold on Michelins now. I do miss my sticky Bridgestone RE11's, though.Originally Posted by SaphGreyC63

The shop deals with the whole process. I didn't have to do anything beyond the usual tire transaction.Originally Posted by SaphGreyC63

ExploreMy shop very graciously did this with my first set of MPSS, but told me that Michelin won't do treadwear warranty on a C63 more than once.
Or maybe it was that the treadwear warranty applied to the tire I purchased, but not to the one that was provided as a warranty replacement.

I also wondered about this, but the shop told me the warranty can get applied again and again. They have a few C63's going through there as well. We will see when the time comes. Even if they don't do a warranty replacement on the replacement tires, I'm still happy.Originally Posted by zcct04

I'm trying to see if this would be worth it for me.
How much do you pay for a standard set of tires for the AS/3 out the door? Installed.

It was about $1000 out the door when I bought the full set of 4 tires (up sized), mounting, sales tax, etc. The AS3 has now become the AS3+, FYI.

Hmm, I pay about $820,
How much did the warranty save you?

The Michelin Pilot Sport AS/3.
Yes this includes mounting, balancing, sales tax, and even an alignment if I want it.
I have a friend who owns a tire shop......

I am currently on my 3rd set of Michelin rears from Discount Tire direct. Averaging around 4500 miles before they are gone. Last 2 sets cost me around $100 per set under warranty. No pics required and no shipping back of tires. I just call them up, tell them the mileage, and they pro rate the costs and ship them to me. Easy.

Oops. I just ordered Hankooks thinking I was being smart/frugal for getting the cheapest set since it was going to be worn out in ~10k either way. I may need to see if I can change my order for Michelins.
