Just back from checking my car out. The never ending build I’ll tell ya. Anyway, going to have to cut a lot of stuff out to get the mufflers to fit right. The fabricator is a really good dude and I got to spend some time brainstorming with him. Goodbye spare wheel well and rear bumper support. Few more days, there is light at the end of the tunnel....

Basically the spare wheel well is getting cut out and deleted. An aluminum plate will be riveted in, essentially raising that whole floor flat. The battery will have to be moved up to this level and bolted in right next to the fuse box. The reason why this kind of involved fabrication is happening is because I want to mount a diff cooler with tre associated pump and radiator to the underside, tucked right behind the rear diffuser. A few steps away, but always have to be thinking ahead...
The rear bumper support will be replaced with an aluminum bar to keep the bumper cover in place.

I see you've decided to go all the way to the end of the rabbit hole.
Regarding the front bumper, see if you can replace the six screws with DZUS clips. Works on the race Civic to get it on and off the trailer - and it maybe takes about a minute instead of 10.
That's just ridiculous! Did you ever end up getting the KMAC subframe and diff bushings installed? That thread went cold. Didn't seem like there was ever any feedback on 'em. Good luck with the rest of the rear end build. That Magnaflow setup is pretty.
You must ready be jonesing for the track!... I can’t image ... It’s been a busy track season at VIR for me... 21 track days, 49 flagger days, 5 spectators events... even got in a few track days at Road Atlanta...

Well she’s done. Almost. I just got back from a drive and WOW. Car sounds great. And the work is beautiful. Took out the rear bumper support completely and fabbed up brackets for the mufflers and diffuser. Very deep rumble, sounds totally unique and very different from the “AMG sound”. Really thrilled with this work, and I’ve found an honest creative guy who’s got some real skill to tackle some of these projects.
But that’s not all. It turns out that my guy used to work on Mercedes exclusively. So when I told him what I was thinking about doing, he climbed up into his shelves and found THIS. He just happened to have a complete OEM CLK Black Series rear diff cooler and pump assembly sitting in a box in his shop for years. Impossible, right? So he’s going to fabricate brackets for everything this week, with the cooler (it’s got a Setrab sticker on it, bonus) sitting right behind the diffuser vent. Will just have to tap the diff for the lines and get the electrical sorted. I’m so psyched about this.
