Help needed - center pinion bearing for rear diff
Hey guys, I'm trying to see if anyone else have replaced their center pinion bearing for their rear diff. I'm having an issue with mine and according to Mercedes, they only sell an entire new diff, not just the bearing. I did a search and there is only one member on here that had the issue. If anyone found a bearing kit or have had an issue with this, I like to hear your feedback. TIA

Mercedes usually won't sell you the bearings I am in the process of changing some on my cousins c55 and even with the part numbers they wouldn't sell just the bearings they are available online though
What issue are you having ?

The issue I have is coming from the bearing. Humming while driving and we have put the car on the rack and locate the noise to be there. Mercedes only sell the seals but not the bearings. They due away with selling bearings replacement for our years. I'm trying to find an aftermarket manufacture (Timken) or someone that offers a solution.

I am not sure but I think the 55 differential is the same so those bearings would work....
There is more than just one bearing in there so you would have to know which one unless you are doing them all

You are right as there is a front and rear bearing in that place. I think the C63 diff is the same as the E55. However, the challenge would be to find the correct pre-load tension spec on it.

Those are the two bearings
The preload is 2.8 to 3.3Nm
Let me know if you need more information.
By the way the c63 diff does not use a crush sleeve/bushing but the e55 does.
My diff part number is A203 351 0706. Just to make sure we are talking about the same differential.
By the way you are going through the same pain I went through. The research took we over two weeks.
Chrysler/dodge uses the same diff that way I was able to track down the bearing part numbers. Makes sense because of the old Daimler/Benz relationship. For the preload the 2006 e55 has it in WIS. I think they changed that work instruction not be available starting 2007.
