Pic of 44o cooling system install

Did you guys all do the install at a dealer? If so mind sharing how much it was? I want to do the install at my go-to guy, but someone (who did it at MB) told me they had to put in an oil cooler tune? Can someone confirm?

I got mine done at my go-to local expert and he did a fantastic job. About half of what the dealer would have charged. As long as you go to a specialist with knowledge of how to use STAR, the programming required is cake.
AFAIK while you can get the package and install it yourself, there is an ECU reflash that disables the fan in the wheelwell (that gets removed as part of the installation) and also modifies the setpoint for the main rad fan. The dealer that installed the kit performed the update for me as part of the installation.

I went to the dealer but I have a good relationship with my tech guy. He's amazing. They spend a little extra time and made a few adjustments to make it just right. So I'm always happy to take my car there.

The 44O package literature says the estimated installation time is 8 hrs, which is what I was charged - despite the fact that it took a very experienced and meticulous tech two full days and them some.

Find a different dealer, preferably an AMG Performance Center. Alterantively, the kit is 100% complete and the instructions detailed enough that with a bit of time you'd have a hard time buggering things up if you've ever wrenched on a car. If you can do your own brakes and flush your brake fluid, chances are you won't encounter any challenges. As for the dealer refusing to do the job, if they don't want to tackle it I wouldn't feel comfortable having it done there. Some dealerships are more mod-friendly than others... hope you can find one near you that is.

Following a track day at button willow this Sunday and hitting 283F the car went into limo mode and cut power so I'm in the process of ordering the the 440 cooling kit, I see I need the following part numbers:
A 204-500-57-00 OPTIONAL COOLING SYS
A 204-880-06-00 RADIATOR GRILLE
My question is if the bumper does not change then the grill shape does not change, if so what are the changes to the radiator grill?
And are these changes something I can do with a Dremel tool?
Also the temps I'm getting (I'm in California)
215-230 regular driving
240-265 canyon drives
265-283 track
Is that to be expected or I'm frying my engine?

See PDF attachment in post #7 in this same thread (https://mbworld.org/forums/attachmen...7.04.14eng.pdf) for the installation instructions, which show what the changes are.
The oil temperatures are pretty normal for a FL car without the 44O kit, so yes, it is to be expected and yes, you are frying your engine during aggressive driving and at the track.

Been thinking of doing this mod but highest i've seen my oil is 240 degrees and that with me getting in her multiple runs. Coolant temp seems to stay rock steady at 195 Wondering how much other cooling could be achieved from different hoods or other cooling methods.

There's a huge difference between the amount of heat the engine will produce during multiple runs - a few seconds in duration followed by a relatively long cooldown period - and during prolonged use (a typical track session might be 30 minutes) where the revs never drop below 4K rpm.
As for other cooling methods, even with the hood completley removed you're still not going to increase the heat removal capacity of the existing oil coolers. I've seen a W204 C63 go into limp mode at an AMG winter DA at -20C ambient (granted, it was going partially sideways 100% of the time at mid- double digit speeds), but the limiting factor is still the oil cooling capacity.
IIRC there is another thread in the C63 forum that BLKROKT started that has more relevant information regarding the heat soak and heat extraction challenges... there was more discussion on the subject there.

is this the only option available for a cooling package for this car asides from the weistec transmission oil pan?

Rear diff: You can get thru MB a rear finned diff cover for a little extra cooling on the rear diff.
Transmission: Checked with MB. 2012 and up already have upgraded trans. cooler. Vath I believe has an aftermarket trans. cooler but I'm not sure if it is any larger than ours.
Trans Pan: Weistec and speed driven make larger after market trans. pans

Thru MB yes, The 440 upgrade is the only cooling upgrade available. This only provides extra cooling for you engine oil temps.

An alternative to the 440 package is the bigger oil cooler from MKB in germany.
Cost are around 1500$, install is plug and play. It really helps on the track, especially the cooling down time is way shorter.

Great option for a PFL. But for FL, where the issue seems more rampant, you can purchase the 44O cooling package for close to that price with panels and air guides to make it more efficient.

Just to add another data point here. I'm at NJMP today driving the Thunderbolt track. It's 90F ambient and I've been running in the 1:36-1:38 range all day. Hottest oil temp I've seen today is 253F and I am running at 8.5/10 (new track). Tires are shredded and brakes down to 1/4, so I'm about to call it a day after the next session.
I'd like to be running cooler, but wouldn't have made it even one hard lap without the 44O kit.

I am not familiar with that track, but in general the oil temps look spot-on for what I've seen on mine at those ambient temperatures. Have fun!!!

Your car in the signature looks amazing!
I called Mercedes Benz in USA close to Rochester, NY and I got a price of $2200+ 8% tax for the whole kit.
In Toronto the price with my discount from Mercedes Benz came in at $3500+13% taxes. And they quoted me $1900 for labour of 12 hours. So almost $6000 for a 440 cooling package. Kind of ridiculous.
Maybe the one suggested might be better...and cheaper.

I emailed CSF about an cooling upgrade like they do for the M3/M4 and Porsche and told them the problems we have and they said they have it in the pipeline but its only discussion stage. I still dont think the black series option is all that but obviously its better than stock.
Has anyone fitted the weistec pan but with the additional cooler? Also anyone done the diff cooler from the black series track pack?

Most people here just do the BS diff rectifier (aluminum fins). It has a moderate effect on temps. The parts for the BS active rear diff cooling are something crazy like $8k, and I don't know if anyone has retrofit that.
