Eurocharged V5 odd issue
Hahah, That's generally what I see go down in their forums though. Ask a legit question. Flamed. Yes I understand I can be annoying guys. I love my car and just want to make sure it is in tip top shape. I have trust issues with dealers but have now found one I trust. I just would rather not bother them and take up a loaner etc if I pull a code and its nothing major.
I am thinking it has to do with what BLKROKT said and maybe cause of my ROW boxes and Afe Filters I will get some brake parts cleaner though and spray around just to make sure I didnt fit the airboxes on with a gap in the seal.
I use a really good OBD scanner and the Torque app.
Also, got my Service BO due in 1100 miles on the dash today. Looks like Ill have to buy some parts for that. 30k miles on my C63 I bought it about a year ago now with 17k miles. Gonna put together a shopping list for the service. From what I read it is oil change, cabin filter, spark plugs, and a bunch of checks. I am also purchasing brake pads this week.
Let me know if I am missing anything but from what I read online these are the items. Im surprised about the plugs because of such low miles.

Seating and screwing down the airbox properly is vital with this car, and I have had issues with it. You need to screw them down snugly but not too tight, or they will strip. The screws stretch. Yes, stretch. I have even been told by one tech that they were not intended to be reusable. I haven't verified that. But I was plagued by cels when dealing with filters/charcoals etc. Then I bought all new screws. I used thread locker, just a dab. Made sure everything was super well seated. Then I screwed them down. Starting with one. Skipped one screwed down the next one. Around like that, like lug nuts on a wheel. Problems were solved. All good since. If I started getting them again when cleaning the filter, I change the screws. Few bucks. I can usually tell the one that has gone. Try that.

Thanks a bunch! Awesome of you to add that in. Do you know the part# for those screws by any chance?

Same codes so I'm going with Maf. Are your guys maf wires touching the intake manifold? My right one seemed crimped travelling back but I'm pretty sure I'd get a whole different code if it wasn't reading a maf at all. And id likely get that coffee every time.

It reminds me of the aftermarket air inlet funnels that have silicone couplers and people put clamps there (not understanding that there's absolutely no need to tightly seal that spot). Although not exactly the same concept, also completely unnecessary.
I mean, you only need the airbox covers not to pop off. The rubber filter edge seals the boxes more than enough with just a little bit of pressure from the cover.

The new bolts are likely designed to have more thread catch the weak plastic inside the air box base. And the filter is a taper seal so you don't even need much clamping force to seal. When you changed bolts did you pull it all apart and clean everything as well?
Sorry man, that tech is feeding you heaping spoonfuls of sh¡t.

two cards probably eight to ten times. I have at least a passing familiarity with the process. It sounded like hokum to me as well, but I got tired of the lights and so I tried it - having tried everything else and being on the verge of putting back the charcoals and original filters. It worked. The screws I have used are definitely aluminum. My fathers business involved aluminum and I handled it daily.
Again, not sure why new screws helping with this sounds so incredible to people.

My current bolts are magnetic, if you need proof I can provide it
.So, new light weight aluminum bolts to offset the extra thread material?
