Metal clips for Front engine cover
One of the small metal clips that holds the front engine cover to the airbox has gone missing on my car. In the attached pic you can see the metal clip on it's plastic post, but the other post is missing the clip.
I went to my local dealer, and they said that the part is not available. They could only supply the whole cover.
Is this correct, or is my dealer being dumb. If so, do you have a part number for me.

Don't worry at all. I remember this happened to another forum member and he located a source to get tons of them for pennies...I'll do a search and hopefully he can chime in...

Happened to me as well, a member on here was nice enough to mail me a few after posting about it.

Probably referring to these:
http://www.clipsandfasteners.com/GM_...t_p/a20268.htm
I can confirm they work. Although they aren't identical to OEM, they function fine.
My only complaint is that I had to buy a whole box of them when I only needed 1. I considered the idea of offering some up to people, but then realized I'm super lazy..

Thanks for the feedback guys. So it does appear my dealer was telling the truth.
I think I will need to go to one of our local fastener shops to see what I can find.

Did you try a pro auto rubber store near you? They keep a lot of clips and pins for things around the car. They might just have this little clip you need or can refer you to someone hopefully.

These metal clips fall into the space between the front of motor and fan/radiator when the engine cover is removed to get to oil filter. They end up stuck under the radiator, on top of that plastic under tray. Easy enough to lower that tray down and have a look there first.
