Is his passenger side front fender being held on by tape? I guess he was just in another accident before this one, lmao. Someone's going to recognize his car but you have to reach out further than this forum.

Sux that this happened to you. I had a jerk in my job parking lot hit my front end. A piece of my grill was missing. Sadly I have a cheap dash cam that park mode rarely works. You have to literally shake the car like the hulk for the vibration sensor to pick up. I just took the "L" instead of making a big deal and accusing the car that was there when I saw it. After reviewing and seeing the car there when I parked they had no damage at all so I couldn't accuse them of doing it either. Good luck though and keep us posted.

I would post it on FB - have people in your area share the crap out of the video and eventually, someone is bound to know someone that knows someone...that car is plenty recognizable.
Also, that sticker under the ESCAPE emblem is most likely a used car lot - it seems like it reads STOP.
Google dealerships with that word - I found a few, check their sites and see if any of them is a match.
- Car Stop Inc, out of Linden, NJ seems very close in the logo at least.
- One Stop Auto Sales
Long shot, but that is another way to go about it. It will require some tracing.

FYI: that car WAS in fact bought from Car Stop Inc. A quick photo to them and they confirmed that used to be the sticker they used to place on their used vehicles. Call them up (908) 925-8350 and see if they have record of that Escape - that will give you the owner at that time of purchase and you can track it from there...surely it may have switched more than an owner, but it is a start.

Not for nothing but a diffuser and bumper cover is probably over $5k.
I'd go back to the local precinct where it happened, show the video and the dealer logo, and say tell them do do their job and go get the guy and book him in the hit skip and do a report on the the accident damage.
I'd also make fairly big stink about the officer you reported it to blowing you off.
The LAST thing they want is for us to have to track people down and extract justice for ourselves. But in order for that to be remotely reasonable, then the police and DA have to do their job.

But I'm like you, I'd buy it from OE, take it to a good local paint shop, get it painted and install it myself. Then you should be able to do everything for around $2000 or a little less.

Still haven't resolved the situation, I uploaded the pix and videos to my insurance now waiting on that. While that's going on im still working on getting the correct plate numbers.

I searched well over 50 combinations with different letters and I ended up getting old chevy vans and SUV's, so anything near the above is likely searched. GCS, GCC, CCS, etc 9/7/1/2
