Renntech airbox dyno results

You would only get consistency out of a pro driver for a comparison, and would have to do many back to back on the same day, temp and tire pressure and tire temp or else it would be meaningless. Even then it's not a perfect scenario. If this item makes more power, a dyno with optimal identical conditions would be far more accurate than trying to time a lap from a circuit that could be a mile or more in length with constantly changing factors thrown in.
I have no doubt that this intake makes a bit more power, but 5-10hp on a car like ours as much as they weigh will not bring about any change on a road course. None. On a dyno, yes you might see a bit of a change in many exact scenario dyno runs.

What happened to just being simple AND accurate, not simple OR accurate. And what exactly is a pro-driver? Who cares? I no pro but if I go run a 12.4 best run without an intake and a 12.1 with an intake then I'm going to assume that the intake lead to an increase in power. Best possible time with a pro driver in that specific car, on the other hand, may be an 11.7 but who cares? Fact is, gains happened.
To me, this is so simple and it is just an intake... Run car without intake a few times, see results. Run car with intake a few times, see results. Were the results better with an intake? Yes? Probably got some hp gains.
I'm not going to argue, but some of you guys are really stretching for perfection in an imperfect world. And then you have the other half that isn't gathering data (or whatever) the "right" way and then just brushes it off like idgaf what you say.
KISS (Keep it simple, stupids )
I understand some of you guys have quite a bit more experience behind the wheel than others, track your cars all the time, blah blah blah. But most of this community is not that. They just want to know if adding an intake is worth it and gains more power and results in better track times for them specifically for the two maybe three times they drag their car annually. Period.

Rather than debate the nuances of interpreting statistics of 3 runs back to back.... just Please bring it to the track and A-B this mod, then post up results.
MPH will be the judge. Until then .... just more bench racing hype

Carbonio Best ET Run: 116.25mph with a DA of 764 normalizes (DA corrects) to 117.04mph (506.50hp calculated)
Renntech Best ET Run: 118.37mph with a DA of -194 normalizes (DA corrects) to 117.59mph (513.68hp calculated)
(I threw out the Carbonio Oct 22 outliers with the big negative DA, which corrected to ~114mph. Just like I ignored the low Oct 29 outliers for Renntech.)
0.55mph increase on a 4100lb car (appx weight with driver) equates to 7.18hp increase (crank)
It's negligible at best given different days and track conditions etc. In fact, one of the Oct 15 mph above on the Carbonio (116.73mph) DA corrects to a mph and HP number practically the same (117.51mph = 512.63hp) as the best MPH run with the Renntech, with all the other Renntech runs actually worse. Much worse. Again, negligible difference which is about what's been predicted and shown by others.
Just shows that you can pick and choose numbers/runs to get whatever results you're looking for. Unless someone bothers to do the math.

Do any of these intakes gain more than row boxes+drop in filters?
i thought those were giving roughly 10whp from the dynos we've seen.

Exactly. If I hadn't gotten my Carbonios from Nelson for a steal, I'd still be rocking ROW boxes. They all do the same thing.

ROW's make no real power.
I had those on my car before the Renntech and made exactly the same power as I did with the OE boxes and AFE dry filters.
Keep your stock air box and remove the charcoal filters. 4-500 for ROW boxes are not worth it either.
Renntech box - for 3K not worth it in the echelon of possible mods. But a performance gain none-the-less.
