C63 fire extinguisher
Hi all,
I want to take the C63 to some track days & I need to fit a fire extinguisher within reach of the driver.
I've rung 3 a dealer & they said part # A0008603314 might fit but he wasn't sure of the mounting. I don't want to drill any holes has anyone fitted one using this part that can provide some guidance?
Cheers for your help.
Brad

I think this is the part you're talking about: https://mbworld.org/forums/c63-amg-w...g-bracket.html
I looked into this as well, but that OE fire extinguisher is too small and unlikely to pass tech inspection if required IMO.
I got an H3R 2.5lb halotron extinguisher with universal seat mount and a billet quick release bracket. Cost me $300 all-in. Fits great, and I know it will do the job if needed.

I had a Kidde A B C in my Alfa Romeo, years ago.
Driving to work, noticed that I trailed a plume of smoke, pulled over, grabbed extinguisher, opened trunk to 1 ft flames (electrical fire), emptied extinguisher at it, for a second it seemed I succeeded, but the flames came back out.
In retrospect, an extinguisher of triple size would probably have succeeded, although with electrical fires, I would have had to think to disconnect the battery (in the trunk), in the middle of all of this. I guess that this is why in racing they have battery isolation switches.
A friend that at the time had a Maserati, had a similar feedback, similar extinguisher, his fire was under the hood.
I have to wonder what a Halon unit would do.

Timely thread. I've been looking to replace the 2.5# Kiddes that are currently in the trunks of the cars with this. The best price Ive seen on it by $20 or so:
