Yes it is nice. Thanks. As I say, the CLA45 AMG was not a bad car but for a guy with nearly 30 years of Benz it was more a Japanese boy racer than a real MB. Good to be back and as you suggest there is no better thing than displacement. I was pleased a friend of mine who actually planted the seed with his 2013 C63 coupe with the same basic options and two kiddy seats in the back was actually a bit envious when he saw it Saturday.
Downside of the car? It is Obsidian Black, The only other car I had that colour was my 2001 SLK320 which was not a daily driver and easy to keep clean. My SLK350 was Fire Opal Red and my 2011 wagon Pearl Opal so it and all the other 7 cars where less prone to show dirt and dust. Time for a California Duster!

I will call them today if I can.

As for a coupe with 2 cars seats......oooof. Better him than me. I have two kids, 10 and 13, and just could not do a coupe. Couldn't imagine trying to fit not just one but two kids in to car seats back there. My 50 year old lower back couldn't take it. Think thats the vehicular equivalent of my wife suffering aching feet cos she likes how her high heels look.

My buddy had a GLA45, and I felt exactly the same way about that car - a neat bit of kit and a great boy racer, but not a Merc, and not really a grown ups car . He felt the same way once the novelty wore off and is currently in a '16 C63S.

The CLA45 came as a result of having had it on the track in a training gig at Western Speedway in Victoria. Fantastic car, lots of power, stuck to the track pretty much without drama. I also had it at the new track in Duncan that GAIN built and great there too but still, a boy racer. In that scenario the only car that beat me was my friends C63. The V12 SLs sucked wind,
In the end it just didn't feel right.
I am retired and I don't have the swag to buy a new C63S but I sat in the back seat with a pro driver at the wheel in Duncan for 3 laps. Now I don't get car sick but one more lap in that back of that thing and I would have had to ask for a barf bag. Incredilble.

I hear you. That is why the SLK350 went. As a weekend car great. Loved it but I only have room for one car in a single garage and wide heavy doors in that space and parking lots is too much for old farts of 70.

They claim there are sensors in the system that they use to get the dynamic lines. To use the OEM camera requires a FAKRA to RCA adapter. A retro fit of the camera will expand the view.
They are adament this kit will work.

Just got off the phone with NAV-TV in Florida Spoke to one technical guy who confirmed his opinions with a development guy.

While on hold I spotted the NAV-TV W204-N RVC kit which is $200 cheaper. It is different in terms of this kit being able to handle a rear and a front camera vs. 3 inputs on the W204-12 Dynamic and fewer bells and whistles. For what I am looking to do it will be fine he tells me.
Our local cat in Victoria is Vision Electronics. They have a dealer on Imperial Street in Burnaby. Might be worth dropping in.

OK well if you are looking FAKRA to RCA, that brings you to Mid City Engineering. Haven't looked at their website in awhile, but they would be worth checking out in terms of camera options. They carry Video In Motion etc etc. Its been a bit since I looked but they have a lot of MB stuff.

Hey sorry to revive a dead thread.... But like everyone says I've been searching and I can't find the answer. I see some people have been successful, and there are videos out there of w204 with dynamic lines. So I know its possible.
But I wanted to know if you or anyone ended up ever buying the/a module for DIY. or Stick to professional shop for this install, doesn't seem too hard.
I am looking at a few options to add dynamic lines to OEM camera (or if I must new camera).
I have listed to options below:
252$ http://indiwork.co.kr/shop/all-inter...-for-mercedes/
234$ http://indiwork.co.kr/shop/all-inter...-link-iw04m-d/
229$ http://car-solutions.com/en/video-in...s-function.php
192$ https://www.aliexpress.com/store/pro...693422026.html
All prices are in USD and all Video interfaces claim to have working active parking line for w204. Some report PGS(park guiding assistance, lines?) and PDC (Park distance control, mini view of car?)
Some details on my vehicle.
Canadian 2013 C63 AMG Sedan, P31, APX and MPP package (ie has parktronic, lane departure, adaptive light, rear backup camera, command NTG 4.5)
Has anyone tried any of devices with success as shown in some YouTube videos? Recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers,
-Patel

You can enable the simple guidelines in the engineering menu.
7 Hardware Setting
7.7 HU Parameter
7.7 (25) SRVC Guide Line
Will look like the below.

Yes by dynamic I do mean the active parking lines which bend as curve as you move you steering wheel. I believe that is a screenshots of NTG 4? Ill give it a shot as most of the thread reference just doing this, but these are static lines, I'm looking for the yellow curving ones like so:
Thanks,
-Patel

just by accessing the menu you can add those lines or additional hardware is needed?

No one else has tried a module for active parking lines for the w204? Called a shop in Toronto and they want about 750$ which isn't unreasonable but if the module and wiring cost me 250$, I would be more than happy to install it myself.
Thinking of going with the HD-link to give it a try. User on the w205 forum had good success with it. Hopefully NTG5.0 wasn't too much more of a difference and the NTG4.5 version works just as well.
Cheers,
-Patel

What I really wanna spend the cheese on is front and rear camera kit. The amount of crazy divers I see I want something that records clearly and in park too.
Been reading up on that and decided to do some reasearch if I could find some sort of ultimate module haha

So I tired to set this up on MY 2012, it was option 21 in 7.7 menu. No luck getting it to work my options to choose from are SRVC, DRVM, DRVM-PSC, RCV2.0 and RVC2.0-PSC.
So I'm assuming I would change it from SRVC to DRVM, but when I did nothing changed. Do I need to cycle the system off and on before it will work or am I up the creek on this one?

I looked into one system as noted earlier in this thread but decided that there is more to this to install their interface than meets the eye and I did not want to tackle it as this is my daily driver. Their distributor said they had never done it, would do it but not guarantee the result and would charge me $1750CDN. I opted not to go that way.
There is another source I have since found but have not looked into it.
In some ways I would appreciate a camera that sits out of the weather behind a door that opens when R is engaged. Having had that on my CLA45 AMG along with a wide angle view, it is more functional than this set up which is useless if it is raining.

Mine is also defaulted to this setting.

Here is the the guy who quoted me in Toronto, he seems to use some sort of Yassi pro interface. This is done in a w204 c250 I believe as it doesn't have the jet vents not sure exact year.
Cheers,

Followed the excellent advise, got to SRVC which was enabled and nd changed to DRVC. Shut everything off and restarted engine but no change out of the camera output.

What I did notice in on an online post was the line in the HU menu shows "guidelines" behind the SVRC Mine does not show that so I suspect it is not in there and that is why it was unsuccessful or I am missing something critical.
