tiresize.com shows that the 285/30/18 is 1.2 inches wider than the 255/35/18. Would there be any issues with performance or safety stuffing the extra width into my stock rims?
And I've seen quite a bit about what rear tires one can "upgrade" to, but I don't see much mention about the front tires? Would there be any benefit to moving from 235/40/18 to something like 265/35/18?

As always you have to work the comparator by including offset of the wheel.
1.2 inches is what 29 mm? It has to go somewhere.
Check 1010tire's site. They have the comparator and will show if there will be any interference.

Just curious cos I had looked at the RS, and wondered about 42 offset (which they also have) and I am lowered on H&R sports. Now Im not sure those 50 in the rear would work with a drop, and 275s.
You have any thoughts on that? And what kind of tires are those, cos shoulder profile matters, obviously.
