Haven't cleaned these. I have cleaned my AFE filters in my last car ever 8k miles. I think 25k may be a bit too long. I used an air filter cleaning kit.

For these filters, should I use a "Synthetic" Cleaner Spray? ... as opposed to a Cleaner/Degreaser which I think is used for oil filters?

I check them every 6 months and when they start to look grubby I change them. Usually about every 2-3 yr which in my case is about 18000 mi. I typically can buy Mann or Mahle for around $35 CDN for 2.
aFe runs around $200 plus tax for 2 so say $224 CDN. I would have to run 6-7 change cycles to recover the cost. Do they really wash clean and how long do they take to dry? Are there stats to tell us just how much the improve performance?

Very easy to wash and clean. I let them dry over night.

Probably limited performance increase, but throttle response was noticeable.
