What's so difficult about changing diff fluid? Am I missing something?

It's not difficult, but for someone who might be a bit wary to change their oil, they're not likely to want to take on something more involved like the rear diff (where things need to be unbolted/removed for proper access).

+1 on both of the above... especially if you mostly drive short trips with the car. The only way I'd feel comfortable going the full OCI distance is if you don't track the car, your engine is healthy and your daily commute is 50 km each way of highway driving.
