C63 Sedan wheel and tyre fitment question
Hello Everybody, new to the forum and have been snooping around and it looks like a great community.
My question is... im picking up my 2013 C63 AMG this week and intend to change the wheels to 19x8 and 19x9 (45 offset) which typically use 235/35/19 fronts and 255/30/19 rears, The roads here are pretty terrible and was wondering if anyone has used 255/35/19 rears ? i wanted a slightly higher profile to protect the wheels a little better, i have my eye on a pair of Bridgestone potenza RE050A 255/35/19.
Apart from the speedo reading does anybody know it will fit or have any issues with rubbing
Thank you

It looks like you will be ok, front and rear diameter needs to be within 3% I believe to avoid issues and these are within that as they are a similar difference to stock - stock sizes are 25.5" front and 25" rear, your choice is 25.5" front and 26" rear so same 0.5" difference, speedo will be out but not by a lot. Tires will be 1 inch taller total though.
The RE050A in my book though is not a good tire, had them on 2 different cars and they are just an ok tire for the first 10k miles and then they are a marginal to poor tire after that, noisy, they cup, never own them again - went with PS2's and PSS's after that and they are so much better, night and day. Currently running Pirelli P-Zero's and am happy with those also.

my new dilemma is that i have been told that the wheels i am purchasing only come in 19x8.5 all corners so with that being said..will a 255/35/19 be too much tyre for 19x8.5 ?
Cheers

Tire Rack is good for this stuff, they will give you all the specs on the tire, look up the specific tire on tirerack.com and they will give you all the measurements - for the 255/35/19 RE050A the rim width spec is 8.5-10" so it is in spec to run it on an 8.5" wheel.
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/Spec.j...omCompare1=yes
Running it on the narrower wheel may tuck it in a little more, you may find you need a spacer in the wheel to make it a little more flush as the 8.5 will be 1/2 inch less out towards the fender.

Yes and that may help your rubbing since it will be on a slightly narrower wheel. C63 uses the standard C class rear fenders, so if it fits a c250 should fit a c63 also (except for maybe brake clearance!) . Good Luck with it!

I am running 18 x 8.5 ET 43 winters with 235/40 R18 on BA and they clear fine.
On an 8.5 I would be less concerned about a 255.

One of the guys who replied on the this thread also thinks that 255 on 19x8.5 shouldnt be a problem based on tirerack measurements,
The problem with online orders is that shipping to Chile is very expensive plus the 19% tax on goods plus anything over 1000 bucks you need a customs agent to clear it for you which means more expenses, i'll have to settle for Bridgestone for now...In Chile they are about 400USD each !

Hey Guys, sorry to trouble you..but i found another set of wheels for my C63, AMG reps 19x8.5 - 19x9.5 offset 40 all round , i also was able to find some Michelin PSS tyres in 235/35/19 front and 255/30/19 Rear ...any idea if this combination will cause any rubbing issues ? Any feedback would be appreciated , Thank you
