Blizzak WS-80 Tire Pressure on stock rims?
Hey guys, I recently put on Bridgestone Blizzak WS80 on the stock rims (Front: 235/40R18H Rear: 255/35R18H) . This is my first time driving a rwd with snow tires. I have 2 questions if anyone can help?
1. What is the recommended tire pressure that everyone is running at for these snow tires?
2. When I am driving at moderate speed,
1. What is the recommended tire pressure that everyone is running at for these snow tires?
2. When I am driving at moderate speed,
the car wobbles side to side and feels like there is a lot of play in the steering feel. Is this normal for snow tires?
Thanks

I have never used snows on my C63, but on my other car, I usually run 3-4 psi more to get rid of the wobbly feeling. The tires should warm up less in the cold conditions so running a little more air won't really hurt. Just play with the pressures a little and find what works for you.

Winter tires will definitely feel like there is more 'give' in the sidewall, and that you are a little bit less connected to the road. There will be more 'squirm' in the treadblocks.
I run the same pressure on my c63 that I do for my summer tires and haven't had an issue.

I ran 42 front and 45 rear earlier and it was really bad. I just changed the tire pressure back to 38 front and 39 rear to see how it feels when I drive it tomorow.

See the sticker on the inside of fuel filler door (not the one on the door jamb). It has the proper pressures for your car. IIRC it calls for around 43 psi all around for winters (18" "summer tire" pressure + 4 psi for the M+S tires).

Just to add to some comments.
I have run winters on 1 size down on this car, 3 different series of E and a CLK.
If you are used to 19s you will definitely feel a softer ride and usually as others noted it seems to take a bit to "run them in" when new and to some extent each season.
I bolted on new winters 3 weeks ago in 18s vs 19 and at first I felt I messed up but they are all settled in.
Running 2-3 psi higher than recommended on the filler flap is what I do was well and I think helpful in that the tire patch is marginally better and the contact pressure in the snow is positively affected.
Thanks

I'm running the 255/35-18 WS80 in the rear this season. The tread squirm is significant, feels like you shat your pants and you're squishing around in your seat (ewwww).
Since it's only a 90H, I run the max pressure (max indicated on the sidewall) which is 44psi. Should get the max load per tires close to say a 95 at 38psi which is what I run my summers at.

Go by what the inside of the fuel filler door says. Look for "M+S" and your tire size, which should be 18". I believe it's 44 psi in the front and 42 in the rear.
No, you should not feel any wobbles at moderate, or even high (up to 240 kph) speed! You may have a warped rotor, or one or more rims were not mounted correctly. Take them off, clean the inside of the rim and the rotor where it mates with the rim, and tighten the bolts little by little in a star pattern.

I hope you guys don't feel badly, but I've also never put snow tires on my C63. In fact, I've never put snow tires on any of my cars, ever. Born and raised in beautiful Arizona!

I changed the psi to 39 front and 42 rear, it feels a little better. I noticed they do feel better when the weather is colder.
